    Report on-board Flamer IV

A lovely day on the Wrecks produced a good catch of Pollack with some double figure fish caught on a variety of lures but red and white lures and jelly worms proved to be the best on the day. Ian Youngs and Graham Johnson also caught Cod. Pictured is Ian Young with his 11Ib 2oz pollack.

    May 2018 by Lewis hodder

    Report on-board Pegasus

May Report- What a month, awesome weather especially the later half of the month we managed 24 days at sea in May and today is the first day ashore after a spell of 17 straight days at sea.
Great to sea some early Bream being caught in one particular area, plenty of fish up to 3lb 9oz with 90% being returned due to the time of year. We’ve also seen plenty of pollack to low double figures, hounds to 7lb, huss to 10lb, Plaice to 2lb, small congers, 4 different types of wrasse, occasional tub gurnards and a few rays. There might of even been the odd dogfish and pout mixed in.... later in the month saw the arrival of a nice few mackerel, great to see them in good numbers at this time of year again.
Wreck fishing has been patchy, plenty of congers up to 50-60lb on the anchor if that’s your thing. Some days have seen a nice few cod and Pollack with Cod to 8lb and Pollack up to 14lb where as other days the fish have been extremely hard to find. We did have a first ever Coalfish on a crossing to Alderney in a mid channel wreck in late may and I have heard of a few more being caught not too far away, let’s hope this is the start of a comeback for the coalfish on the south coast.
Great to see so many anglers enjoying Lyme Bay and beyond though with plenty of old faces and a few new ones thrown in as well.

    June availability;

    Saturday 16th Inshore 8am-4pm £50

Friday 29th Inshore 8am-4pm £50 Bream, Pollack, Plaice
Evening species league 5-9pm £35 including bait and entry fee.

I also have the following dates available for whole boat bookings or individuals. 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th building tides all that week. There could be the possibility of a first go at a shark trip for the year?

  • 06/2018 Fishing Report by Matt Forrester on Silver Halo (Torquay, Devon)

    Jun 2018 by Matt Forrester

    Report on-board Silver Halo

Several of my Lyme Bay wrecks have been producing plenty of good sport. The last couple of weeks we have run several lure / wrecking trips with catches of approx 20 pollack between 4 anglers each time. Lots of pollack between 6 and 8lb and the biggest at 13.8lb, we've also had several bigger fish lost close to the wrecks!
Cod were showing well a few weeks ago but have become a bit harder to find last couple of weeks, biggest going 7lb plus we had a couple of small Ling to 11lb.
Mackerel are now showing up in greater numbers.
Water temps are now good and we've loads of bait fish around :)
Please get in touch and make that booking, spaces still available !

Weymouth Angling Breaks - *** NOW TAKING BOOKINGS FOR 2018 and 2019 *** Don't Miss Out
A few days away fishing out of Weymouth along with the social side is a nice trip to do.The variety of fishing and the amount of different species caught at Weymouth is probably second to none. There are plenty of places to stay which are angler friendly and some excellent places to wine and dine around the harbour and in Weymouth Town centre.
If you want to try a Weymouth Angling Break then contact me, I cater for whole boat charters and individuals.
Planning your trip well in advance is essential you need to arrange your boat booking and your accommodation as early as possible to avoid disappointment, some of my regular groups plan their trips at least 12 months in advance, this allows them to discuss with me the best tides for the type of fishing they are targeting.

  • 11/06/2018 Fishing Report by Philip Higgins on Mistress Linda / San Gina3 (Poole, Dorset)

11 Jun 2018 by Philip Higgins

    Report on-board Mistress Linda / San Gina3

Fishing has been excellent with so many fish coming onboard it is hard to keep up with the scores, Bream and Tope have been the main targets inshore, we have been using spinning rods Tope fishing and it has been challenging for some anglers to control the fish but all have successfully mastered it and are enjoying the style. Over the last few days we have had 2 new species to the list a Worm Pipefish and a Shore Clingfish, this little guy was so cute with his extraordinary spotted eyes and colours.

    Report on-board Just Mary

    Hi All,

after weeks of unseasonal Easterly winds, in which we have still managed to land good numbers of fish locally, everything is set to change later this week. By the weekend we should be back to the usual prevailing wind which, for us, is South Westerly and blowing up the English Channel. So we will begin to fish various different local marks after the 'Thursday Blow' and hope to provide more variety of species for your enjoyment. Looking ahead to July, we will start our Plaice trips and after the success of the 'Skippers Traces' last year then we look forward to another good season on the 'Spots'. Look forward to seeing you all soon, ta Malc.

The Reef/Bank fishing has been really good with good catches of Rays,Bull Huss,Congers, Smooth Hounds and some Black Bream but most of all the Tope fishing has been amazing and great fun. Cocktail baits of squid and mackerel mounted on pennel rigs of Sakuma Manta 6/0 and 4/0 hooks have proved to be successful. Pictured is Chris Wall with a 23Ib Tope.

    Report on-board Al's Spirit

With the fishing Inshore now finally in full swing .Now the mackerel are here in numbers we are getting good numbers of Tope , Spurdogs , Congers and Bull Huss on the rough ground. The mussel beds are still producing a few Plaice and the Shambles Bank is always a good bet for a chance of a good Turbot. Black Bream are about after spawning and numbers will increase.

    Report on-board Just Mary

Hi All, after an extensive six week 'out of the water' refit 'Just Mary' is back in Poole and back on the fish ! A good weekend spent targeting the local Black Bream marks produced good numbers of these migratory fish which apparently were late arriving this year in our waters. So get onboard as soon as you can with only limited opportunity available this month of June, thanks, Malc. Ps. For a more extensive report and pics see our Facebook page of 'Onamission Charters'.
