2019 has got of yo a really bad start thanks to the weather not allowing us to get on the fishing grounds. we did manage a couple of days on the 5th and 6th of jan with each trip averaging around 30 codlings per trip. We've had nearly 2 weeks of unsettled weather and a mixture of northelies creating big seas so hopefully once settles we should see a good stamp of fish come over the rails. we did make sea angler magazine this month on the 6th jan we had sean brewin aboard from chester and he caught a lovely 7lb 6oz codlings a pb for him. The fish fell to a full squid bait. we're also still taking bookings for the spring festival which starts on 13th April till the 28th april with a cracking £1000 up for grabs for heaviest fish over the competion aswell as daily prizes. Winter looks like making it present felt this week but as soon as the weather breaks we will be off getting back into the cod fishing blacks and squid doing the damage abetrer stamp of fish now showing .
The £5000 1st prize summer festival is getting very well booked up so don’t leave it to late to get yourself booked on Sea-Otter 2 we had the biggest cod and biggest ling in the 2018 competition .

A very windy #Whitby today. This big northerly system looks to be set in for the next few days.
We're taking booking still, we fish all year round, as this sea drops away there will be plenty of cod inshore.
Keep an eye out for updates on my page, we do trips for as little as £30 for a days fishing and we're the only boat in whitby to offer night uptide trips, also only £30 per person.
We have the best quality #Daiwa hire tackle available loaded with braid. Bait can also be arranged if required.

The last few trips on the Shy-Torque have been very up and down indeed.
After a few days with Northerly winds and swell, the offshore fishing has taken a bit of a knock compared to just before Xmas. Even the wrecks out around the 20 mile stream were struggling to produce.
Looks like we need a good settled spell to get the water cleared out again.
The inshore fishing however is showing a few fish. The last uptide trip we did produced a sprinkling of codling. My son Adam catching the best of the day at 6 lb 1 oz.
The boat is scheduled to be lifted from the water for a week from Monday 21st January for general maintenance.
If you fancy a run out with us before then, either inshore or offshore, give me a ring on the usual numbers. We will, as ever, sail with a minimum 3 anglers.

Just come back from a great evening uptiding trip on the Mistress. Really good night, set off 4pm from the pontoon, through the bridge and out past the piers. Half an hour or less and we were into fish nice little codling to start the night off. Fishing was steady away all evening a couple of nice fish coming onboard even a dog fish making an appearance . Unfortunatly a couple of seals decided to join so that slowed the catch rate. we moved to a couple of marks. It was a very peacful nights fishing . Rich was keeping us right on the ins and outs of uptiding at night and Crewman Nikki kept busy netting and untangling. Got back to the pontoon just after 10pm. all for £30, Bargain, Can't wait till next time.

Brilliant night tonight smashing the cod on our 1st night trip of the year,
The lads managed a steady 50-60 codlings on our 6 hour trip, the best angler managing around 15 himself.
Yesterday on our day trip we managed around 70 keeper codlings with chuck backs on top of that.
We'll be looking to run these on weekly basis on a weekend night and maybe in the week too if we get enough interest. Theyre £30 per person.

Happy new year . Had a couple of days out between Christmas and new year 27th and 28th Dec. Two good days first day was the best with the top angler catching 17 nice cod. best cod weighed 8lb 4oz. Not quite as many on the second day but all caught enough fish , best fish a ling about 10lb. Boat been lifted out for annual spruce up will be back fishing end of January. Cheers Kevin.
