firstly we would like to wish everyone all the best for 2019. We ended 2019 on a high with our very first conger eel to the boat. it wasn't a monster but weighed in at 3lb 150z. We were surprised to see it come aboard on the uptiding grounds. The cod fishing continues to thrive with a better stamp of cod coming over the rails and in good numbers. We've an absolutly awsome week smashing the cod here at Whitby on Mistress
Even over the small tides anglers were leaving with upto 20 cod per person. Weve seen some belters too upto 15lb.
Black lug and unwashed squid doing the damage,
Most of my trips are 9 hours this time of year, but if youre on a budget and can get a handful of lads together, Im happy to do a cheaper deal for you. I can do a 7 hour trip for just £30 per person.( not so early start and miss the rush hour home! )
I'll also be running some night trips this month.
If you need hire tackle, we have the best daiwa outfits available all loaded with braid, I can also supply bait if required too.

Hi everyone. Hope you all had a cracking Xmas and may we wish everyone a very healthy and Happy New Year.
The last trip aboard the Shy-Torque in 2018 went very well indeed with perfect conditions helping too.
A fabulous forecast enabling us to have a run out beyond the 20 mile with the mixed group of lads on board.
I won't mention numbers of fish but if I honestly said that on one of the marks for about an hour it was literally like winding the clock back 35 years!! Superb fishing with lovely plump winter cod and ling. Rods bending all round the boat on every drift. Great fun!!
Enjoy the rest of the holidays and give me a ring for any trips you fancy in 2019.

Friday had a trip out to the wrecks .first stop was a big wreck on the 18 mile which is usually a banker but the gusting wind kept taking us through the wreck rather than down the length of it causing us to loose a lot of tackle after only taking a couple of fish in an hour .we tossed a coin where to go next .and opted to come back in to the 9 mile ground stopping on a wreck all 11 rods went in straight away and we picked away getting a nice stamp of codlings up to just over 8 lb .then as the tide got going we moved to the ground picking up more codling and a few ling .top angler ended up allan knaggs who usually helps out onboard but had a day fishing himself and was rewarded with some nice fish best going 8lb 2oz .
we are running another trip on Thursday 3rd of January if anyone fancies .the long range looks favourable .don't know as yet if it will be drift fishing or at anchor but will know nearer the time . View Boats Page

firstly we would just like to wish all our customers old and new a merry Christmas and a prosperous New year. The fishing over the last couple of weeks has been fantastic with the rods nodding non stop. Each trip has averaged over 50 codlings but our trip yesterday 28th December was the best of the uptiding season so far with over 100 cod boated up to 6lb . The majority were all over 3lb so a great stamp of fish between 4 anglers. Bait of choice was blacks and dirty squid and cart. We continue to get to sea as much as we can with the winter weather which has been surprisingly good for the time of year and long may it continue. Tight lines for now!!

We had our 1st day back at sea after the christmas holiday, what a day the 4 lads had, we boated over 80 cod for the day the best cod pushing the boat scales to 15lb, most in the 3lb-6lb bracket.
We'll be running trips upto new years eve, then back on after new year,
