Report on-board Shy-Torque III
Not had much of a chance to report just recently what with the hectic summer competition just finishing.
A cracking 3 weeks fishing & weather too for all concerned with just 1 day out of the 23 lost to bad weather. Something of a record to be fair.
The fishing was good over the competition in general with some good bags of fish landed. We didn't manage the overall winner in this years event but did have a good sprinkling of daily prize winners for the lads.
Our best fish falling to Richard Todd from Hornsea. A nice ling of 15 lb 4 oz winning a 1st daily on the day.
The fishing continues to be good at Whitby. The mackerel have started showing up in force too, on the doorstep, which is great news.

Places available over the next couple of weeks are :-
Thursday 26th July. Room for 6.
Tuesday 31st July. Room for 4.
Wednesday 1st August. Empty boat. ( Will sail with just 4)

The tides are now well on the way down after the monster tides and today the lads from Rotherham had cracking day on the cod and the water is once again well on the way to being crystal clear explosive time with the shads Agee spaces Tommorow if you want to be on the cod .

Well that's another summer festival done, we didn't win this time but we got some final placings on the table with many daily prizes under our belts too!
The fishing was hard the last couple of days with the tides being enormous, yesterday though with the first drop we managed a sready 40 codlings on our inshore 6 hour trip along with a few mackerel too.
The best fishing has been over the neap tides and with the tides dropping out this week i would imagine the fishing will pick up with it.
We have places available
Thursday 19th - 7 places
Saturday 21st - 1 place
Sunday 22nd - 1 place
Thursday 26th - 10 places
Friday 27th - 10 places
We only need 3 people minimum to sail, so if youre interested in a trip with me on the Mistress here at Whitby prices start at £5 per hour per person.

The boys from Drax power station had a fantastic day on Trot On, with around 20 stone of coddling and around a dozen Ling coming aboard. The water is still quite murky on the inside so most of the fish fell to squid and mackerel cocktail baits Martin Harrison had a coddling that was so Orange it was first mistaken for a Wrasse and after a quick photo call was safely returned to fight another day for your chance of getting in on the action give Whitby's Premier charter boat skipper Paul Eddon a call on 07766995847 and fill ypur freezers

What an absolutely fabulous day today here at Whitby on Mistress
West Cliff School chartered the whole boat to run a number of trips for year 6.
We ran 3, 3hour trips so we could get everyone to sea for the chance of a few fish.
We found plenty of fish for the 1st time anglers totalling 50-60 codlings and around 20 mackerel everyone had an awesome time.
Heres a big thank you to West Cliff for booking me again for the 3rd year running and giving me chance to put a smile on the kids faces.
If anyone's interested in running a similar group trip with large numbers of anglers I can source extra boat if needed too.

Last Saturday marked the start of Whitby Charter Skippers Association grand summer festival.
So far Mistress anglers have fared well with us taking the top spots in the 1st two days and joint 3rd on the third day.
Tomorrow we have a day away from the festival running 3 trips for our local primary school, West Cliff.
We also have a shark trip on friday, but other than those days we're eager to get our anglers among the fish and hopefully among the prizes!
Hire tackle is available, with the addition of a few new rods, all kitted out with saltist reels and braid.
If youre interested in booking with us, the trip is £50 with an entry fee of around £5 per person.

Some very reasonable inshore fishing again this week working in the shallow water.
Yesterday we were hard ashore again, working the ground off Port Mulgrave in 60 ft where the lads picked away steadily until the weather turned against us around 2pm.
Fish were coming aboard on the bait and also fair and square on the shads too so the water is nice and clear again there at the moment. Sadly we are predicted a Northerly swell again which will colour the water on the inshore marks again for a few days.
With the summer competition starting on Saturday we will be working the wrecks again looking for the £5000.00 winner !!

The lads have been smashing it on Sea-Otter 2 last weekend it was just mad non stop action Saturdays party from Jedburgh had around 200 cod all on shads tuesdays lads also had a hell of a day weather playing havoc here with northerly winds the £5000 1st prize summer festival starts Saturday just a few spaces left in fancy a dabble give me a bell on 07748705695.
