We decided to have a bit of a species competition on this morning 6hr trip fishing many different grounds
Overal the lads managed to catch 8 different species we were hoping for many more but our usual ray ground unfortunatly didnt produce today.
The top angler managed to get 7 species which were cod, pollock, coalfish, mackerel, lessor spotted dogfish, whiting and a herring

Some lovely, good quality fish showing up for some of the lads on the last few trips on the Shy-Torque III
The ground has been fishing fairly well with some good sized ling appearing with weights to just over 14 lbs. These bigger fish coming from the ground just 3 miles from shore. Plenty of fishing time when we work so close to home!!
A few of days ago we had to work very close to shore on a corporate day trip with a group of lads from Smiths Contractors from Huddersfield and Leeds. The wind was too fresh to venture offshore and we found ourselves fishing some 500 yards from the shore at one point !! The lads and lass pulled a few nice codling up on the baited Hokkais and a load of mackerel and were very happy with their day.
On the days we have managed to venture further afield we have been seeing catches of 70 plus fish on board plus loads of mackerel too.
Late Summer competition starts 2nd September. Some places left.

Being getting some vice nice cod and the Lads on Wednesday smashed it 5 cod in double figures and quite a few between 5-10 lb here is mike Pinner a regular on sea -Otter 2 with the biggist cod on the day you fished very well mike stacks of cod fillets for the freezer .

Hi all,
Been a while since we reported what with the summer competition being on and also me taking a well earned break to Cornwall with my partner.
The fishing has been so up and down this year it really is crazy! A few days at sea with some fairly good catches followed by some poor weather days and some poor catches. All in all, the same as ever then I guess!!
The summer competition went well for the Shy-Torque anglers with a good number of daily prize winners across the 3 week event. Brian Robinson fished with us and held the top place for nearly a fortnight with a lovely ling of 15lb 4oz. It was finally beaten by 2 heavier fish at the end. His fish did however win him an equal 3rd place prize of £375.00 so a very well done to him for that. A big congratulations to my mate Paul on Trot On for getting the winning fish again this year!
There have been a good number of species caught this last couple of weeks. The one that is missing for us this year sadly is the porbeagle. We have had them on on 4 occasions but each fish has slipped us!! Luck on the day I guess.

The September competition is approaching fast now with just over 2 weeks to go. We still have some room left so if you fancy a bash please give me a call on any of the contact numbers or drop me a mail.
The picture inset is my nephew Ben and some of his mates who fished with us today. They had a great days fishing gathering some 70 fish or so white fish with an additional 150 mackerel!! Best fish fell to Ben on the last drop. A lovely cod of 12 lbs taken on a strip of fresh mackerel. Ben is 2nd from the right next to my son Adam.

Some of the fish caught on today 6 hour trip
Again a good mix of cod, pollock mackerel and billet also the usual big wrasse which were returned as normal
Jo was on fire today pretty much getting a fish every 10 mins
Out newly designed Shads have been fishing really well for the last few days which is always great to see hopefully we will have them mass produced and on our tackle website to purchase very soon.
We have spaces on our 8 hour trip tomorrow for anyone who is interested in some inshore fishing. View Boats Page

Some Bonny ling showing on the ground had quite a few in double figures this week this young first time boat fishing gets a 16 lb ling got a few spots still available Tommorow stacks of fresh mackerel to use as bait if you fancy it give be a bell on 07748705695 .

Been getting some very nice double figure cod on the inshore wrecks over the last week we have quite a few plus yesterday we had a ling topping 16 lb big tides the next few days the pollock fishing will explode next week as the tides drop the cod and Ling fishing should once again come alive .

from todays trip
Fishing started off well with light winds then as the day went on it made fishing harder and harder in the end we returned an hour early due to the sea conditions and predicticted forcast.
Again some good fish with several into double fugures, heaviest fish was a 14lb Ling
