Out uptiding yesterday cracking weather and gear fishing the lads got right amount the cod Paul pantelarisco from southport smashed it he had into teens of cod Upto 7 lb on worm and squid cocktail .

This saturday was the last day in our winter uptide festival here at Whitby.
All in all its been a successful do for us, with many daily prizes for heaviest fish and heaviest bag,
Mistress won the heaviest bag section, with Gary Arkle landing and impressive bag of 39lb 15oz, the same day saw myself with another bag of 38lb and another lad with 32lb. Rob Bailey also weighed in a bag over 31lb, Plus loads of bags into the 20's.
We had fish upto 8lb 8oz but most were in the 4-6lb range.
So now thats over with, we will be back to normal sailing times, 0730-1630,
Keep an eye out on my Facebook page, Mistress Sea Angling Charters, for our night trips which we will be doing again this winter. Mistress is the only boat in Whitby offering these trips and they have always been very popular,

SEA-OTTER 2 just misses out on top spot by ounces in the Whitby Sea-Anglers £1000 Winter Uptiding Festival .
Sea-Otter 2 just missed out on the top spot by just a few ounces but smashed the top 10 cod placing with a 2nd 3rd ,4th,5th,9th and 10th heaviest plus the winner of Any other Species ,lady's, and Juniors sections another excellent festival for the lads and lasses on Sea-Otter 2.
Here is the man who just missed top spot with 9lb 2 0z cod not so bad he still gets £200 plus his daily prize as well happy days . View Boats Page

We've not done a report for a while with the weather making it hard to get out and when we have been getting our fishing has been steady away.
Today the lads had a great day for uptiding with every Mark producing a good amount of fish
Overall about 70 size fish boated but several released back to fight another day.
Best bag today was over 40lb and heaviest fish was just shy of 6lb
The main bulk of the catch was Cod but a few dogfish, pouting and bull huss were also caught
Best baits was squid, lug and cart

1st day back Uptiding after the last northerly, we got among the fish boating 30-40 codlings for the few lads onboard, everyone thoroughly enjoying some decent winter sport. with some top fish in prime condition!
So we had high hopes for the following day, but it was really hard work, despite covering lots of miles and plenty of shifts through the day.
We have another big northerly system currently battering our stretch of coastline, so the fishing should be spot again once we get back out at them!
There looks to be windows in the weather tomorrow and Friday by the looks of it, but it can and does change! we have spaces Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week.

Its been a rough month for us up here at Whitby with us losing three weeks of the month to bad weather, its also given me chance to get my annual holiday away and wind down a bit!
Since getting back this last week the fishing has remained up and down as it has all year, we've started giving the Uptiding a serious shot and we've been rewarded with some lovely fresh run fish, numbers are still a bit down on last year, but the water is still quite warm and and we still need a good northerly to colour it up, which we currently have building!
On this last set if big tides, we've fished at anchor through the tide and fished selected wrecks during slack breaking up the day for the our anglers.
This last week has seen several cod into double figures the biggest topping out at 14lb yesterday. Uptiding has seen to cod to just under double figures, so with this bit of sea things are looking up for the forthcoming Uptiding Festival. (5th-20th November).
If you're into your shore fishing, you'll love uptiding, Our weekends are now fully booked but we still have plenty of available midweek places.
So, if you fancy a day in the festival or even just some winter fishing, whether you're a novice or experienced you get a warm welcome with me on the Mistress.

Hi Everyone,
we're still taking bookings for the Uptiding festival here at whitby, which runs from the 5th - 20th November.
There is a huge prize pool for this one including a whopping £1000, plus section and daily prizes, its £5 entry on top of your charter fee, sailing 8am - 4pm,
Refreshments available at the weigh in at the Fleece.
I'm currently due on holiday 14th-21st October, but will be taking bookings whilst away. please be patient if I don't get back to you immediately during this period, but I will get back to you.
Mistress is fitted with the absolute latest bottom mapping / fish finding electronics. This competition is where this system comes into its own.
we had several Double figure fish last winter and always find a few each season, and some huge bags of quality fish too. Please check out the photos from a couple of days last year,

We have the dates set in stone now for next years (2017) competitions here at Whitby.
They are as follows :--- Spring. :- April 1st - 16th Inc.
Summer. :- July 1st - 23rd Inc.
Late Summer. :- Sept 2nd - 17th Inc.
I for one am biting at the bit now to get back out there after having the bulk of the season off through ill health. Really looking forward to sailing with you all again in 2017. The calendar for the Shy-Torque is now fully open and ready for taking any bookings. As always I have included the size of the tide on the day you are thinking about. Its the whitby sea anglers uptiding festival starting on the 5th november £1000 top prize to the angler with the biggist cod over the 2 week competition plus a top 5 leader board with very good daily cash prizes as well .
Sea -Otter 2 has won this competition for last few years and winning 8 out of the top 10 prizes last year so come on boys that £1000 is all to play for plus there is a special cash prize for heavyiest any other species still a few spaces left give me a call on 07748705695.
The double figure cod are allready on the uptiding grounds here is one from a recent trip .
