Report on-board Skylark
Another great 6 hour trips offshore today with plenty of cod showing off Scarborough.
View Boats Page
Shads had the advantage for the first half of the trip, then hokkies and large feathers took the advantage in the second half.
Lots of strappy ling around with most been around 6 to 7lb.
Heaviest fish today was a cod just over 10lb caught by Damien. And overall we boated 78 cod and several whiting, mackerel, pollock and ling.
Weather was fantastic with a light breeze and we also got to see and hear the vulcan bomber display for the armed forces day on the south bay.
Photo off the heaviest fish of the day just over 10lb. -

The awesome Fishing continues here at whitby .

The fishing today has been absolutely spot on again, we started out wrecking this morning with big baits for big fish, we got plenty of fish each drift, but not the size we were looking for!
We moved about and then some of the lads ran out of bait! we moved onto some ground to try and find mackerel in numbers all the lads did was start bringing cod in three at time! so we stayed a while and smashed them with the shads before moving away in search of mackerel.
We went all the way out to the 7 miles but had no drift, in the end we hit the 2nd slack water with pouting, coalies and a few odds and sods for bait! we moved inshore and suddenly found a few mackerel - at last!
The lads carried on bait fishing and i got stuck in getting them some bait, and it did the trick, we took a daily 2nd spot with a Ling 11lb 5oz, the same lad also got a nice cod around 10lb too, we lost a good one just shy of the gaff, we saw it estimated it to be around 15 / 16lb!
Its certainly the best show of mackerel we've had all year up till now, taking two thirds of a gorrilla tub.
With a good forecast tomorrow and small tides we'll be hoping to better our day and see a few better fish as they seem to be poking their noses out at last.

First day back at sea, after the latest blow here at whitby . We worked a few wrecks today as the tides are slack.
View Boats Page
From the off the rods were pulled over as the cod smashed the #shads . As the drift slowed we went on to baits to try and coax a croc out, but we only managed a couple between 9lb & 10lb.
We finished on a high note on a wreck, for the last half hour, the cod were still going crazy for shads with every rod every drift getting fish.
Great fishing, if you fancy a trip in our grand summer festival, with a cracking £5k to be won, give me a call on 07977 436903, e-mail: seafishingwhitby@hotmail.co.uk or drop me a message on my Fb page Mistress Sea Angling Charters

Jun 2015 by Rich Cope
Report on-board Mistress
We've had a good week here at whitby on the Mistress when we could get out between the weather systems, cant believe its June and we're losing as many days as we are for the time of year!
View Boats Page
We've seen a few double figure this week, and a few just shy of doubles too, so the bigger ones are starting to poke their noses out!
Our best day this week saw the lads boat well over 200 cod in under 8 hours! absolutely phenomenal fishing, The lads again kept what they wanted and threw lots and lots of fish back, the best lad had 35 cod himself, and a few other lads also boated over 30 cod apiece.
The best Cod went to Tom Toase from Helmsley and it went 11lb 5oz on the boat scales, the best Ling was 10lb 5oz to Rob Bailey from Rotherham,
The Ling got Rob on the leaderboard in our Current WCSA summer festival, he got a daily 2nd and its currently 2nd heaviest fish of the comp,
The festival runs for 3 weeks 20th June - 12th July, and there is a whopping £5000 up for grabs first prize, plus many other cash prizes over the event,
If you fancy your chances there are still a few more places left on the boat, give me a call on 07977 436903,
