Report on-board Mistress
With the algae bloom colouring the water as it is at the minute and tides being as lively as they are, we had a run off the wall yesterday. I had group of novices onboard so fishing was a bit slow, we managed to get a few fish for the lads though we got a nice double figure cod for Ian, and also managed a ling into double figures. The lads left happy though having caught a few between them.

After a slow start on the inshore marks on Saturday we decided to try a few wrecks out on the 20 mile stream. These also proved to be quite slow giving us around 15 fish or so. The "Wall" was shouting out to us so off we went! Fortunately the water there was like gin and the fishing was really good. Best lad at the end of the day was Graham Stansfield from Leeds with some 20 cod and 6 ling. All the lads were rewarded for their efforts. A great day with superb weather !! With the small tides we decided on a days wrecking, with virtually no wind all day it was perfect. we worked a few wrecks on the 4 mile, the sport wasnt hectic but we took a steady picking of cod everywhere we stopped, the biggest of the day went 8 1/2lb for Mick Thurlow, which is a new PB for him. the majority of the fish were in the 4-6lb bracket. We also managed a a cat fish which are a bit of rarity, nice to see though.

Its that time of year when doule figure cod can come in numbers yesterday the 1st fish on the boat fell to dave nixon from sunderland with a cracking cod of 14lb he nailed it on shad dave loves his shad fishing and will persever all day doing it .
Lee hassbring lee tend do more fishing with squid and he wasnt dissapointed he got a lovelly fish over 13lb he was well made up we did have bit of problem with a very large seal which took a few good cod off the lads i wont say what they said but they werent happy.

With the huge tides last weekend we decided on a days uptiding, probably the last day uptiding until next winter. I fished with paul on sea otter 2 the day before and got a few fish, so expectations were quite high.
Myself, regular lads, Ray and Alan, and killer jumped aboard, and off we set to fish the ebb tide.
It was slower than the day previous, but out of the 6 hour session Ray had 4 fish, Alan had a few killer managed a couple and I managed 1! the fish were all between 2lb and 5lb, it was a fantastic day at sea just like a summers day.

With near perfect conditions the inshore wrecks were going to get a good hammering today the tides have now dropped right down the lads today got amoung some really nice cod the best fell to this man with a fish going over 13lb just one of his many fingers crossed for tommorow with another drop in tides.

Well with some of the biggist tides this last weekend and with the weather being allmost like mid july i decided to give the uptiding a bash for the last time this winter it was a 5.9 tide a monster so the wrecking was only going to be hard work and even though it wasnt hectic the lads managed some really quality fish the best just an ounce or two under 10lb was the biggist on the day a bonny fish to say the least all in all the lads who were from the west coast manged quite a few fish between 4-7lb not a bad stamp.
Its wrecking from tommorow so lets hope and i have sneaky feeling we are in for some good fun.

When the weather here at Whitby has been kind to us we've been seeing some good quality fish aboard the boat. Sadly we just aren't getting enough good weather at the moment !! 8 lads aboard each day at the weekend, both teams seeing some good fishing. We are having to travel to the more distant wrecks and ground at the moment to find the better fishing, but if that's what we have to do, then we do it !! There are fish starting to show on the inshore marks too but not quite as prolific just yet.

Well today with near on perfect condtions no wind flat calm small tides it was guns blazing on the cod squid fished its nuts off on the wrecks the ladson board had over 150 cod a fabulas day there was nothing massive the best went around 10lb richard sutcliff nailed two arounf that size but most were between 5-8lb.

Today saw settled weather again, so with only a couple of lads interested in a trip we set sail for a bit of winter uptiding. we had a good spring tide today with plenty of tide to get the fish feeding. we had a great start with me catching a fish touching 10lb, but the rest of the day proved a bit slow despite a few moves. we finally called it day when the heavens opened and we got a dollop of snow!
