Report on-board Shy-Torque III
Last day of their 3 days today for Joe, Bernie, Chris, Paul and Gareth from the South East, London area.
We decided to stay and fish the inshore marks again, anchored and uptiding/ downtiding. A much slower day than yesterday with only around 20 keepers boated and a further 15 or so returned.
The lads were fishing peeler crab, squid and lug worm again. A few Bull seals were hampering our efforts for the best part of the day and probably hampered the catch rate. A bonus lobster today for Gareth which was returned as it was a female carrying eggs.

It’s been another cracking few days fishing on the uptide /down tide grounds with cod galore up to 8lb, Squid and blacks doing the damage as usual. Majority of fish between 2lb to 4lb bracket with the odd better one. With the weather set to turn on Sunday we have a few spaces this week, please take alook at our calendar for availability.Individual spaces can be booked and all equipment can be provided at no extra cost. Joe, Bernie, Paul, Gareth and Chris's second day of 3 today and we decided to have a day in the shallows working the uptiding/downtiding method.
A 5 minute steam to the ground was great for the lads and they were well happy with their catch for the day with numbers of cod boated well in to the 80's.
Around 60 keepers for the table. As ever when uptiding/downtiding, every fish today was caught on the bait. The squid and lugworm doing the business.

Our lads from the South East arrived in Whitby yesterday.
Joe Blackham, Bernie, Gareth, Paul & Chris joined us on the first day of their annual 3 day visit to Whitby.
We worked some rough ground 15 miles East of the harbour all day where the lads picked away nicely. Cod, Ling, Pollack, Coaley and the usual small stuff being boated.
All the fish fell to the baited Pennel and Hokkai rigs, not a fish on the artificails. The poor weather this last weekend colouring the water a bit it seems. A nice visit by a pod of dolphins was a nice sight for the lads too.
The lads fancy a spot of uptiding today so we'll see how we go on.

The uprising is in full swing now and we have been mega busy with trips with a fairly mild October so far allowing us a fair few days at sea. We have seen Over 100 codlings boated on several days so far and some crackers to boot up to the 7lb mark. We have also had some nice pollock up to 6lb with squid and black lug been the bait of choice so far. The last couple of days the weather has turned and with a big northerly blow and 10 ft seas it’s just what the ground needed and the cod should be alive once we get back out there after the stir up. We have plenty of availability both midweek and some weekends , with some great light tackle sport to be had, so if you would like a bash at the cod we really are the boat to be on for. On Saturday we had a break in the weather so headed out to a few wrecks on the 5 mile area where we found a decent picking of cod upto 5 pound with a few ling, pollock and mackerel with the upcoming uptideing festival starting on Saturday the 9th of November until Sunday the 24th of November there is also a good fishing of codlings showing so if you fancy a chance of winning the top prize of £1000 we have places available so just give me a call on 07721670810 thanks shaun Alliance charters

A fantasy week on the cod Saturday it was literally non stop action there was between 80-100 cod onboard a cracking days fishing with many fish returned as well great sport blacks and squid doing the damage a lot more to come .

Had the Polish lads on board today, we decided to run to the wrecks on the 20 mile mark, after a slow start the lads started to nail a few over slack water, some nice Cod and Ling coming out and also some large coalies, we were treated to a nice display of grey Dolphins with there acrobatics, we also lost a fish near the surface to a Porbeagle Shark, all the lads caught a few fish, pictured is Artist with a Ling which gave him a bloody finger and Marek with a Cod he also landed an Octopus.
