Report on-board TROT- ON
Friday saw us joined by a party of novice anglers from the Worksop/Mansfield area. The boys were VERY impressed with the NEW Sonic hire rods coupled with the NEW Shimano and Penn reels for them to use. After a quick instruction in the use of multiplier reels the lads were keen to get fishing.

After a steam out to the first wreck for slack water the fish soon started to arrive aboard. A mixture of codling, Strap Ling and Whiting taken on bait and baited hookki's.
After slack water we had a move to some ground on the 9 mile where we had Codling, Pollack, Whiting and Pouting.
With the change of tide we were back on the wrecks where the Big lad caught the best fish of the day a nice cod of about 7lb. Now the Algae bloom is clearing by the day the fishing is set to improve vastly and the Shads will be coming into play. The Bigger Ling are also starting to show their heads.
With the W.C.S.A festival starting on the 25/6/2016 Will Super Skipper Paul Eddon and Trot On make it 4 wins in a row????UPCOMING INDIVIDUAL SPACES ONBOARD TROT- ON

A vast improvement for today's mixed group of lads.
Most of the lads averaging around 6 - 8 fish each and all being caught on the shads and sidewinder lures. A few of the lads were baiting their lures with good results.
Simon England from Barnsley, South Yorks, enjoying a nice catch of 12 fish. A mixed bag of Codling and Ling.
Top bag for the day was Steve Mason from Chesterfield with 15 fish. Again, a mixed bag of Codling and Ling.
Nothing of any great size, but with the general Codling stamp being around the 4 - 5 lb mark and the ling running to around the 7 lb mark, a very enjoyable days work indeed. All today's fish coming from inside 6 miles too which is a very good sign.
It's looking like the dreaded algae is finally abating lads, so lets hope thing continue to improve for the season from here-on-in.
Cheers and tight lines as ever!!

Today was a belting day at sea flat calm blue sky and all the lads were well up for it again the Algie bloom has made the fishing hard for the lads but as always on Sea -otter 2 you get 150% effort from myself the lads worked there butts off and it was regular Steven Gillespie who won the day with this very nice cod the lads massed around the 40 cod mark for there sheer hard work in the Algie coloured water but when the water clears which should be any day now the fishing will explode shads will be on fire on the cod .

Some belting fish turning up today with a 9lb 4oz Pollock Boarded as well as two 8lb Cod.
overall the anglers had a good selection of cod, Pollock, Coalfish and a Ballen Wrasse.
Not bad fishing for inshore with neap tides hopefully as the tides build we see even better catches
The water is clearing in patches but looks like the algae is starting to discolour it too. -

The algae is still plaguing us and is as bad as it's been for ages. Hopefully reaching its peak now with some clearer water just around the corner. One Mackerel caught yesterday !! First of the year here at Whitby to my knowledge.
Today we had half a dozen lads on board and their total catch for the day was 16 Cod, 2 Pollack and a few Whiting.
A lovely calm and partially sunny day however, made up for the rather slow fishing. The lads were all pleased with the combined efforts though and enjoyed their day.
Tight lines

The water was murky with no interest shown in artificial baits . With the water now clearing we are hoping for some better sport hopefully akin to last spring. When we had on occasions 100 fish days. Finally we get our second 3 hour trip in of the year and yet again like the first some fantastic Pollock and a several codlings.
Joint heaviest fish was two Pollock just shy of 8lb both nearly identical.
Alot of size codling were returned to fight another day
We only had 5 anglers fishing who managed to catch 2 to 3 fish each
