Another red letter day for the boys on Sea Otter 2 paul bradshaws trip his party had some awesome fishing the lads hammered the cod in just a couple of hours it was time to call it a day the lads had caught enough these boys haven't seen cod fishing as good as this there eyes were well and truelly opened.
Here are the lads with just a few of there fish they returned i dont know how many but there freezers are now well and truelly stocked with prime cod fillets .

England boat fishing team manager Neil Bryant was aboard today with some of his clients trying out the range of long telescopic boat rods Neil designed, And WHAT a day they had, After a 2 hour steam to Paul Eddon's chosen wreck we were into the fish from the drop. All 7 rods were bent into fish. All cod between the 4lb and 8lb bracket. This continued with every drift. We filled 3x8st boxes in 90 mins. Neil decided his chaps had enough to take home and all other fish were to be returned. we must have caught at least another 100+ fish between 6 anglers in the remaining time we had on the wreck. After lunch Neil wanted to try for Pollack fishing jelly worms, Unfortunately most of the time we could not get through the cod but we did have some pollack to about 4lb . One of the lads Kev brought a 4ft Ice fishing rod that was super fun especially when I put a trace of hokki's on and had a treble hook up of cod all around the 5lb mark Neil had a go with the little rod and this proved to be a laugh and a half. After a cracking break with my 2 boys and friends down near my mothers in Devon we're back at it again lads. The first crew on board after the break was Dean Parsons and his mates from Easingwold. A great days sport on the ground with over 70 fish caught between the 5 of them, plus a hugging of monster Mackerel !! The fishing continues to be at it's best here at Whitby. Room for a few spare anglers tomorrow (Thursday) and Friday.

The cod fishing here at Whitby continues to throw out some very nice fish indeed double figure cod most days and stacks of fish between 3-7 lb all on shads .
The winter Uptiding looks like it's going to very good indeed a lot of quality fish will come tight inshore in droves .
Another lovely fish for this man plus he had many more not as big but a lot around the 6 lb mark . View Boats Page

5 hour Wrecking trip this morning.
A fantastic stamp of fish showing with nearly all the anglers beating there personal bests.
Heaviest fish this trip was a 18lb 1oz ling caught by Steve Binnington.
2nd heaviest fish was a 15lb ling caught by Katie Harrison age 13.
3rd heaviest fish was a 13lb ling caught by Paul.
The anglers had several ling around 6 and 9lb and cod to 9lb as well as mackerel a few whiting and pouting.

My second trip out with Neil and Paul was just as enjoyable as my first.
Two weeks ago I caught a dozen Cod in the 6 to 8 pound range, On Saturday it was mainly Ling with a smattering of Codling.
The boat is clean and spacious, not the fastest I have ever been on but rides the sea well and is very comfortable.
Mackeral were hard to come by for bait but Neil did his level best to ensure we had enough fresh bait.
I have to comment on his ability to not only put the boat on the fish but also to keep it there as long as the conditions allow, he is a very skilled boatman and understands anglers needs well.
Some belting Ling were caught with the best (unfortunately not to my rod) weighing in at over 18 pounds.
I found baited Hokkais were best during the slacker periods of the tide then switched to a small baited Shad fished on braid.
Loads of takes and I honestly lost as many fish as I landed. A fab day. View Boats Page

The double figure cod just keep coming on Sea-Otter 2 over the last week we have had into teens had the 58lb British Cod Record holder Noël Cooke onboard over the weekend his party booked the boat for 2 days and what a 2 days fishing the lads had .
Stacks of cod between 4-7 lb plus a nice few doubles and it was noël who does his usual thing by nailing the big ones he had 2 double figure cod himself the best 15 lb the lads have allready booked there 2 days fishing again on Sea-Otter 2 for next year .
