Charter Boat: Odyssey
Boat and Skipper Details
Odyssey is Breaksea Evolution 30. She is coded to Cat 2 (60NM from a safe haven day or night) for 8 passengers and 2 crew. There is a lot of room in the cabin to sit in warm and dry and room to store your kit out of the elements. She is powered by twin 300hp Yamaha outboards so has a decent turn of speed. Our typical cruising speed is 22-24knts. More speed means less travel time and therefore more fishing. On a good day, we can cover the 35miles from Milford to the Celtic Deeps in 1.5hrs. With a 60NM code of practice we can operate all over the Bristol channel and far offshore from west wales to get try and make the most of the some of the finest fishing in Wales.
If you have a particular species of fish you’d like to target let us know and we’ll do our best to tailor a trip to suit your needs.
Weekends available, weekdays are available just give a call. Please note that phone is best way to get quickest response but all emails will be answered.
In addition to fishing trips we are open for sea safaris, safety boat work, filming or just general sightseeing.
10years+ experience fishing the Bristol channel and West Wales. With a passion for all kinds of fish from the smaller species like mackerel all the way to sharks and tuna, Luke will do his best to find the fish. He loves nothing more than seeing rods bent into a good fish! As qualified Yachtmaster Offshore with full commercial endorsement, safety and enjoyment is his priority.

Fishing Report by Luke Evans

So we finally found a weather window to get out to the local reefs. Plenty of action on the lures. Using a mix of soft plastics and SPJ the team captured in excess of 150 pollack to around 6lb. No monsters but great sport on light gear.
In addition we had, launce, coalfish, pouting, cuckcoo wrasse, and a greater weever. Final species total was 7.
Now awaiting the next weather window to get out again :) -

Fishing Report by Luke Evans
15 Aug 2023 by Luke Evans
On Tuesday 15th August the Odyssey team with 2 willing anglers on board took a recce trip out to the Celtic deeps in search of tuna. The signs were promising as previous shark trips showed that there were some around.
1 hour into trolling spreader bars we had our first run of the day. After emptying over 300yards of line on its first run and a few others also Julian soon had it to the boat and the fish was tagged, revived and released to fight another day.
An hour later we had another screaming run with a tuna but sadly we suffered a hook drop and it was the case of the “the one that got away”. We did a bit od drifting with dead baits but no tuna. We did manage a bonus 100lb blue shark so a nice consolation prize!
A great day out and hopefully the numbers now increase as the tuna season is wales tends to kick off from September onwards.
If you fancy a crack at a welsh tuna on a fully licensed CHaRT Cymru charter boat get in touch -

Fishing Report by Luke Evans
4 Jun 2023 by Luke Evans
Odyssey took her first trip of 2023 out to the Celtic Deeps on 3/6/23. It’s still quite early in the season. Given the nasty Easterly wind it made for tricky conditions.
After a quiet morning and a change a location to get our drift back into an area that delivered the goods lass year we had our first run of the day. A very healthy fish of approx 180lb was landed after a 15 min scrap. It was the anglers first time fishing for porgies so I was glad to find him a lovely fish to open his account with!
Next run was a few clicks on the ratchet. This went on for 5 mins but the skipper managed to work his magic to get the fish to take the bait. After a 20 min battle and thinking that I had actually hooked a nuclear submarine we got first sight of her. She looked us in the eye and promptly took all the line back… However after giving me the runaround, doing her best to swim under her the boat she was soon alongside the boat. A right lunp at approx 300lb she was released and shot off like a rocket and skipper had to have a sit down to recover!
Not long after we had another run and it was fish on again. Another prime porbeagle of about 160lb was soon boat side to be released.
We had a group of 3 blue sharks swimming in the slick off the back of the boat but sadly no takes. Hopefully they will increase in numbers over the next few weeks. An excellent start to the season hopefully it continues along with some settled weather.
