    Report on-board Flamer IV

JUlY 2011 - Maple Cross Deep Sea Anglers club headed by Terry Crilly joined Flamer IV for a wrecking trip for cod and pollack. After a team talk and making sure they had all the correct tackle prepared we set off.Just over 2 hours later we arrived at the chosen wreck which had fished really well the day before.Well the fishing was slow to start with with a few small cod and pollack being landed.I told the lads to stick at it and as it did the day before as the tide eased up the big cod began to feed.Dan Gomm landed the first and biggest cod of the day which weighed 22Ib 8oz.Dan is pictured with his personal best cod catch. Then Billy Birchell and Kevin Pyle joined in with 18 pounders.Dan Gomm was at it again with a 14Ib cod.The other Members also caught cod along with some pollack. But poor old Terry only caught two pollack despite all his efforts(better luck next time Terry). All the fish were caught on mainly rhubarb and custard or blue sidewinder lures. The lads really enjoyed their trip and have already booked a few for 2012.
