Report on-board Lady Margaret
The fishing continues to be good. Again, we have been concentrating mainly on the inshore drifting and have been catching plaice in good numbers. There was a bit of a blip mid month where bigger fish became more scarce but the end of the month produced some fine fishing. No really big plaice were caught during the month but we had a good number of fish between 2lb and 3lb.
One of the nice things about late summer inshore fishing is the number of different species featuring in the catches. Tub Gurnards and black bream feature in nearly every trip but we have had some unusual species including Conger eels, gilthead bream and some big red mullet.
We haven't done much bass fishing and when we have the results have been a bit mixed. Lots of small fish around but the bigger ones continue to elude us although we have had a good number of medium weight fish to 6lb.
The mackerel are very scarce and even the inshore plaice fishing trips have not produced many latety. Fishing with feathers is most likely to produce scad at the moment.
We have only fished one very short session at anchor which produced wrasse and pouting.View Boats Page
