    Report on-board Sea Urchin IIl

    The sun was shining and the rods were bending....a lovely day out on the wrecks today.

    There was no need to travel too far. We fished a couple of inshore wrecks which were pretty obliging all day. A nice stamp of Codling came aboard consistently along with a handful of Ling on slack water.

    It turned into a bit of a species hunt as we landed Codling, Ling, Coalie’s, Pollack, Whiting, Dabs, Pouting and Gurnard and Mackerel and everyone took a few home for tea which was great.

    As standard, Squid did the damage, mainly fished on bait traces with a muppet. A squid and fresh mackerel cocktail also proved effective. The water is clearing out a little now, so the Shads should come into play again soon.
