    Report on-board Galloper

There have been loads of fish around on our general trips lately. The whiting and dogfish are here in force. Of course these much maligned fish aren't everybody's cup of tea. However they keep the rod tips bouncing and with half term approaching these are ideal to keep the kids happy.
These are interspersed with the occasional thorn-back ray, late smooth-hound and bass.
The nicest surprise has been a few codling mixed in with the other species. They certainly won't be filling the freezer but it's nice to head out with the prospect of seeing one or two in a day.
Les and his group decided to try for a codling on their last trip. We had to move around a bit finding a few rays in between the numerous whiting, dogfish and pouting. We were pleasantly surprised to see a few late smooth-hound mixed in too. With a decent bass in the bag the codling had evaded us until the end of the day. Thankfully two of the little darlings came out to finish the day off nicely for us.
If you want to join us as as an individual or group then please get in touch. I have availability over the next few weeks for general trips as well as offshore for bass.
