    Report on-board Galloper

We have seen a variety of weather over the past week or two. From flat calm sunny days to wind and rain but thankfully we have been able to get the lads on plenty of fish. from bass offshore to dabs in the river there is no shortage of fish at the moment.
Our general trips continue to be very busy with whiting and dogfish jumping on our baits very quickly. In between these we are catching a few thorn-back rays, late smooth-hounds and bass or even the occasional small codling.
Unfortunately the other day a strong south easterly wind put the mockers on an offshore bass trip for Tony’s group. Undeterred and with a mountain of bait to use up we spent the day in the blackwater estuary. once the tide had sorted its self out the lads found plenty of dabs in between the whiting and dogfish. it wasn’t long before the lads were bringing in double shots so I tasked Neil with catching a treble shot for the camera. He persevered throughout the day but couldn’t manage a treble of dabs though he did a pretty good job of catching whiting and dogfish while trying! We had a few school bass mixed in too. The lads fished hard all day and had a pound on the most species to keep it interesting. It kept them focused too and they fished to the last minute over the money! I even had to stop hauling the anchor half way to net a ray for Graham. Talk about last minute!
When we have been offshore the bass continue to keep us occupied with good numbers and the fish getting more chunky by the week.
Remember it is often worth giving me a shout if you are cancelled else where and still wish to get out, as we have lots of sheltered fishing available and a big catamaran which makes it even more comfortable.
