    Report on-board Shy-Torque III

    After a week off for poor weather and big tides, it was good to get back on the water again yesterday with our team of East European lads.

    Rich Horobrov (past Summer festival winner with us) and his mates enjoyed a fabulous day weather wise with some steady fishing too.

    The day started out chasing the Mackerel, which to be fair were a bit elusive at the beginning but they did show in great numbers a bit further out.

    Ground fishing started the day off with three or four good drifts on the Codling and Haddock. 25-30 fish taken there with some bonny Haddock too!

    We then chose to run to a couple of wrecks offshore to work over the slack water period.
    No great shakes from those to be honest with just a couple of dozen fish boated.
    Tony taking the best fish on the boat, a Ling, an ounce or so under 9lbs.
    Not a big fish by any stretch but it did however take first overall in the daily’s and won him £50.00.
    Well done to him!

    The Summer competition has just 7 days to go and with the tides falling off to the neap range we are hoping to drag something a little bigger out to challenge the current leading fish.
