    Report on-board Flamer IV

The reefs/banks fished well for Bream, Huss, Congers, Rays, Tope and occasional Cod. The Kidney Bank was particularly good for Blonde Rays up to 22Ib. The Shambles bank was consistent as ever for Turbot and Brill. Offshore wrecks were fished on the small tides at anchor and produced plenty of Congers and some Ling. I had lots of entries for the fish of the month, plenty of good Bream and Rays were entered. The winner for Flamer August Fish of the Month is Gary Mackenzie with an Undulate Ray weighing 17Ib 8oz which he caught on the Shambles Bank. I have also awarded a junior Flamer Fish of the Month for August which goes to Jenna Linwood aged 14 who landed a superb Black Bream weighing 5Ib 9oz. Species count for 2006 is now 49.
