Report on-board Flamer IV
The offshore wreck fishing was good for Pollack and a few Cod. The reefs produced plenty of Bull Huss and some Congers. The Blonde and Undulate Ray fishing was ok at the later end of the month. Adrian Kruger had a 19Ib Cod and a 9Ib 7oz Turbot while drifting the Shambles Bank. Most of the fishing in April was done on the Shambles Bank targeting Plaice and Turbot. The best Turbot was caught by Peter Gould of Dartford SAC who landed a 16 pounder. 80 year old George Denman landed two Turbot in concecutive drifts showing the youngsters how it's done. A 5Ib Plaice was caught by John Smart, and a 5Ib 8oz Plaice was landed by Richard Coles who wins Flamer Fish of the Month for April. 2006 Species count is now 27.
