    Report on-board Girl Gray

There we were, 7 novices, dressed for about 10 degrees of frost in the Marina car park at 06:30 of a Saturday morning wondering what the hell we had let ourselves in for.

Very smooth transfer to Girl Gray, locked out about 07:00 and away to our first fishing spot. Skipper had rods all organised for us. After a bit of good patient advice and help from Steve - "The thin end goes towards the water" - and such like and we we all fishing.

Mike first in with a 3lb+ codling after about 10 mins. and suddenly it was a competition. Quite a few more were dragged on board over the next few hours along with Whiting, some quite decent ones, and several flatties, not quite so decent.

Biggest of the day to Dean with a Codling just under 4lb took the kitty.

Tea and coffee and a large helping of banter flowed all day and a great time was had by all. Now regard ourselves as seasoned fishermen and will definitely be back for more.
