Report on-board Flamer IV
September was a good month with plenty being caught. Plaice and Black Bream on the mussel beds. Some good Conger and Ling fishing on sessions at anchor on wrecks. The reefs were good for Conger, Bull huss , Bream and undulate Rays. Turbot and brill from the shambles bank. Bass from the portland race area. The european championships were fished and a good time was had by all with some excellent fishing taking place. The N.F.S.A. wessex champion of champions competition was also fished, with Flamer III winning the top boat prize. The kidney bank was good for Blonde Rays. September flamer fish of the month is awarded to Peter Bradley for his 23Ib Blonde Ray. The flamer 2007 species count now stands at 54 which includes a rare coalfish which we hardly ever see these days.
