    Report on-board Flamer IV

OCTOBER 2009 - FLAMER III REPORT - The weather was reasonable with just the odd gale thrown in.The fishing was excellent for bream, cod, bull huss, rays, gurnards, ballan wrasse etc on the reefs. The mussel beds produced some nice plaice and the Shambles Bank was very good for Turbot and Brill. The species fishing was very good and the 2009 species count on Flamer III now stands at 58.My annual two day species competition was won by Paul The Power Milkins.Nick Payne won Flamer Fish of the Month for October with a Flamer First which was a Common Stingray weighing 57Ib.Nick is pictured with his ray catch.
The winter whiting fishing should start soon as a few have already been caught.
