    Report on-board Flamer IV

The weather was certainly unsettled for most of the month. However a wonderful week with glorious sunshine was had on my first 5 day West Country Trip of the year. 24 different species were caught ,Tope, Spurdog, Smooth hound, Conger, Bull Huss, Gurnards, Whiting, Garfish, Pollack etc along with plenty of Plaice. The offshore wrecking produced Bass, Pollack, Cod and Ling. The reefs were good for Tope, Bull Huss, Congers and Bream. A session on the Kidney bank produced 8 Blonde rays including 15Ib,18Ib,22Ib and 24Ib rays. Plaice were still being caught on the mussel beds and Turbot on the Shambles bank. Species Count is 40 so far in 2007. Flamer Fish of the Month for May was awarded to Leo Toms who caught a 50Ib Tope. The Tope was returned alive.
