    Report on-board Mistress

I wasnt over optimistic with it being a 6m tide today.
we managed a few fish yesterday from a bit of ground inshore whilst the tide wasnt flowing full bore so was eager to get back to it this morning.

we got there just as the tide was easing and managed a few codlings before slack water on shads. over slack we popped some baits down and a manged a few ling into low double figures,

as the tide got away we took a slow picking of fish getting 1 or 2 a drift until we started getting blank drifts.
by this point the the lads had taken a steady picking and boated around 25 cod and ling.

I used the tide for a move, and found a another piece of ground that was producing, and by the end of the day we had amassed 56 fish, approx, half a dozen ling the rest cod, there were the usual whitings, poutings, and mackerel on top of that too. the best ling went 11lb and cod just short of 7lb.
the lads finished the day very pleased with their catch. it was a very unexpected result given the huge tide today, and with us drifting at well over 2 1/2 knots, well done fellas, you fished well.
