Report on-board High Flyer 2
Very light westerly wind for once nice calm seas, as on slack water as we headed out decided to take advantage and try the deeper water on the 5 -6 mile mark. In 85 ft thought we might have a chance of those migrating thornbacks that made a show last week but was not to be. Only few flatties and the dreaded whiting again! As the tides a bit strong today we had to head back in to shallower ground to hold bottom trying a hole on the 3 mile mark same sort of fish again! Headed right in under Corton ,slow start with plaguing weed as tide raced through picked up the odd whiting most of the day. Just before slack nipped out again to the bank nothing changed still bloody whiting so came in to my mud hole as it got dark where we had a busy little spell on dabs and yes more whiting! Hard work today i thought for the running around but lads done well, thanks to Nigel for organizing the party with, SAS Roland, Russel,Dick,Tom,Ash,Carl,Chris,Paul and lastly George from Cambridge all first timers on the Flyer. Thanks men hope you all enjoyed the day, and the wives didnt moan too much about being late back in! All the best. Jon. (High Flyer.)
