Our first wrecking trip for a while mainly due to the baccy weed and excellent ground fishing recently. Today saw five of us push out in search of Cod and Pollock. Some of the wrecks are still not producing but a favourite uncharted wreck did us proud again. Water has improved dramatically with water visibility well over 10m and no sign of the baccy weed. Fishing was outstanding with fish of real good quality coming aboard. The biggest cod of the day fell to David Woolnough with a fine fish of 18lb. Closely followed with a cod of 16lb 8oz for Chris Woods. I got among the fish and landed a cod of 14lb 8oz. Nearly twenty double figure cod were caught today out of a haul of over 80 fish. The rest of the catch was made up of a lot of cod 8lb plus. We did get among the Pollock with fish up to 9lb being caught. The quantity and quality of the fish we had today I have not seen personally for six years!
