Report on-board Bessie Vee
Bass fishing in Falmouth Bay, 11th July 2010
View Boats Page
After commercial boats had caught 45 and 50 bass respectively on the day before, we headed for Falmouth Bay where birds have been working. After a short while, we caught a couple of small bass, and then had a 2 hour wait for the birds to reappear. We then caught a 5lb 7oz bass, and another smaller one. All over in a short while, so we anchored on a wreck in the afternoon and caught 25 conger, the best of which was 45lb in the short period of slack water.
The bass seem to be a one-off phenomena in this area (5-6 miles off land), so no particular marks, just following the bird signs.UPCOMING INDIVIDUAL SPACES ONBOARD Bessie Vee
