    APRILS FISHING

Unfortunately the weather has been a little bit hit and miss this month with quite a few trips being cancelled but we have still managed to get out and catch some good specimen fish.

The fishing on the wrecks has started to die down a little with less Pollock showing but with more Cod coming up every day, on the plus side the stamp of Cod is amazing with most fish averaging 9 to 12lb with a few amongst that being 13to 16lb and there's always that chance of that 20lber.

    INSHORE FISHING

The big fish fishing has still been steady with some good specimen Rays/ Spurdogs coming in. The best Spurdog so far being bang on 20lb (200% Specimen) caught by a regular group angler, this stunning fish was Neil Baths new personal best and was his biggest fish he has ever caught and to make it even more special It smashed the old boat recorded by over 2lb. Think this one might take some breaking.

Shambles/ Flat fish has picked up a little bit with some half decent Turbot/Brill showing also quite a few smaller ones to keep the rod twitching, The best Turbot this year so far was caught on the last day of April being a monster at 16lb John Ferry who caught this big dustbin lid was over the moon once it was in the net. (Pictured)

Now lets see what May brings this year with the first couple of Alderneys trips happening and a far bit of wreck fishing for the Cod.

Fingers crossed the weather continues to be nice through out the year and we get to see you all again.
Thank you for all coming to Weymouth and making it down here for the nice weather.
