Report on-board High Flyer 2
Aug 1st 2016 bringing us up to date , steamed out ten miles offshore to a favourite mark of mine the weather perfect, bit of strong tides start of the springs but we coped well i thought. Started off fishing for tope straight away with mackerel from previous day Tom caught first one of 28lb nice fish unfortunately grazed and rubbed all skin off his arm little bit of claret but hes hard! Slack water approaced so feathers out for the usual tons of sandeels, few mackerel still not thick, plenty of weavers and nice little gurnards too with odd flatty about. After slack Fishing was a bit tough in the tide has couple of runs which amounted to nothing ended up doing a bit of bassing on the drift but no bass today . Only other boated tope was todays picture of Chris first tope for him so though be nice to show weighed in at 25lb leaving him tottally knackered and needing a tea! Used the new tailer today pleased with that as very angry customers these tope like to bite anything onboard so count your toes afterwards! wasnt the most productive of days tope wise but ok for the tides and feathers made up for it, big thanks to Steve for organising the trip Tom and Chris and first timers Brett , Andy and Nathan much appreciated men look forward to next time. Cheers Jon (High Flyer)
