    Report on-board Lead Us

Boat Record Smashed Twice In One Day !

Out again on Lead Us Saturday 22nd found heading back to grounds that had produced earlier in the week. With a crew of 4 on board including two young lads Kacey and Lewis on their first trip angling on a boat and what a day it turned out for them, once we had settled into position it was the steady stream of doggies and whiting which continued throughout the day with the odd smoothound thrown in for good measure. Lewis was the first to hook into a ray a nice Thornback at a respectable 7lbs and his biggest sea fish, graham next with a smaller Thornback things were looking good. Then Lewis was into something and it was obvious it was big and took some getting off the bottom as it appeared on the surface a very big Thornback i didn't think it would fit in the net. Once on board and weighed at 12lb smashing the boat record by nearly 2lbs making a very happy Lewis. slack water arrived and things slowed down with the odd whiting coming in as the tide started again graham picked up a Blonde Ray a first for the boat. With the weather worsening and the wind blowing the boat all over the place and everyone just dropping their baits over the side Kacey's rod nearly disappeared over the side as i grabbed it i knew there was something big on the and handed it back for Kacey to bring in once on board another very big fish which caused some debate between the boys as to whose was the biggest but the scales proved Kacey's fish was the biggest at just over 12.25lbs breaking the boat record again and his biggest ever sea fish. At this point with the weather worsening we headed in with two very happy boys and a good day had by all.
