    Report on-board Privateer

First trip out of 2018 was a 5 hour beginners trip. Mackerel can still be patchy so the choice was made to fish the inshore grounds at anchor. Which turned out to be a very good choice as there were plenty of fish for all and Constant sport for the whole trip .... happy converted anglers returned to the pontoon.
Whilst nothing of any great size was caught, shared amongst the anglers were plenty of feisty smoothound, Dogfish, Dabs and Huss with Whiting, thornback Ray and pouting showing. Also a solitary weever and even a small Tope :)
Whilst no Mackerel were fished for the Dabs were mostly of a very good size and a selection were taken home which I'm sure made very good eating.
Subject to weather next weekend I will be pushing off shore to target larger Tope which have now arrived in the area. Saturday is fully booked but I do have some individual spaces for the : Sunday 10th June - 8 hours - sail, 10:30am - £40 per head. Please contact me if interested.
