    Report on-board Pegasus

    February 2019

We managed to get out 11 days in February which isn't too bad at all, Inshore fishing has been getting better, we've had a great winter inshore, and now that the water temp is on its way up again the spring species seem to be feeding better with lots of Smoothounds in small to medium size range being caught in the later half of February, this along with 4 different species of Ray, Bull Huss, Conger, Whiting, Ballan and Cuckoo wrasse and the obligatory Pout and Dogfish make for a god fun days fishing inshore and has made for some very entertaining species fishing, the Reef Pollack are getting to a decent size now as well with fish over 10lb being caught on the inshore reefs in the last week of February, great fun on light gear. The fishing Offshore and to the east at anchor has been steady with Blonde Rays being caught over 20lb on the banks, the odd Spurdog, Ling and Undulate Ray and lots of Huss and Conger on the rough ground and reefs. Wrecking also improved a lot mid February, but a visit from the netters slowed the fishing down toward the end of the month although I still managed to find enough fish to keep everyone happy but nothing big with the best Pollack of the month at 13lb.
There are still weekend individuals spaces on a few dates in March, mostly offshore anchored trips.
