Fishing Report by Jon Whitton
31 Mar 2019 by Jon Whitton
The last few days has been hit and miss. On Thursday we had regular David Jenkins and a few others on for a day's uptiding. With the neap tides I thought we were in for a tough day but we hit the uptiding grounds and within a few mins the rods were nodding. We finished the day with around 60 codlings and dave was top rod with 16 to himself as well as a nice 8lb, 2oz, pollock, another regular Gordon wasn't far behind with 14 for himself and a good average stamp Of fish around 3lb to. 4lb. The water was really starting to clear out. Saturday was very poor with no colour in the water and very little fish over the rails and virtually no tide running but we still managed a fish or two for our anglers. Today we decided to head out to the inshore wrecks with regular Gordon back for his second trip in a week and we picked away steady over the wrecks all day and finished the day with a couple of ling around 5lb and a few nice codlings upto 4lb. Its now looking like a few days off due to weather so hopefully it will stir up some colour inshore ready for us to get back to the uptiding grounds.
SPRING FESTIVAL IS ALSO JUST AROUND THE CORNER WITH A CRACKING £1000 UP FOR GRABS.

The past couple of weeks has seen us get out on the fishing grounds daily with the high pressure and settled mild weather . The last set of neap tides saw very little fish caught as the water was starting to clear out with all the settled weather which isn't good when uptiding as you need plenty of colour in the water and add that to neap tides and hardly any flowing tide we struggled to get fish over the rails. The past few days has seen big spring tides and just as predicted the cod started to fly over the rails with plenty of tide and a little colour in the water in places the cod were back on the feed and we have been averaging around 40 codlings per trip with two cod over 8lb and many in the 3lb bracket so not a bad stamp of fish . Bait of choice been black lug and dirty squid. Please see our calender for available dates and upcoming trips. Also we have the spring festival coming up very soon which starts April 13th to April 28th. For more info or to book a trip with us contact barry on

we managed to get a trip in on Saturday 26th and had 10 Lithuanians aboard . we headed south onto the uptiding grounds and once the flood tide was away we picked away steady over the duration of the trip with around 30 codlings to the boat. The lads were using fresh live lug and squid. The seals have been a bit of nuisance of late so were constantly on the move. We currently in the midst of 60mph north westerly winds so were stuck in port and hope to be out for Tuesday 29th jan as things look to settle for then. To get booked on one of our trips and not to forget the spring and summer wcsa festivals with some great prize money on offer. Give us a call

we've finally managed to get back to sea after the recent poor run of weather. After nearly 2 weeks of been in port we hit the uptiding grounds . The tides were spot on for uptiding and we were straight into the cod with around 50 codlings per trip. Biggest was 5lb. The seals this last week have been a bit of a pain stealing plenty of fish from the lines but we just keep moving on and try our best to avoid them. There has also been a bit of a worm shortage so some days we couldn't get the amount of bait needed or we had to use rag which dissent seem to have the same effect as the blacks but non the less we still got our anglers into The fish. Please check out our calender for available spaces in the wcsa festivals and boom early to take advantage of the best tides. Tight lines for now!!

2019 has got of yo a really bad start thanks to the weather not allowing us to get on the fishing grounds. we did manage a couple of days on the 5th and 6th of jan with each trip averaging around 30 codlings per trip. We've had nearly 2 weeks of unsettled weather and a mixture of northelies creating big seas so hopefully once settles we should see a good stamp of fish come over the rails. we did make sea angler magazine this month on the 6th jan we had sean brewin aboard from chester and he caught a lovely 7lb 6oz codlings a pb for him. The fish fell to a full squid bait. we're also still taking bookings for the spring festival which starts on 13th April till the 28th april with a cracking £1000 up for grabs for heaviest fish over the competion aswell as daily prizes. We will be going all out to get our anglers into The prizes. You got to be in it to win it. for more info or to book a trip with us 07470354403.
Remember book early to secure the best tides. Tight lines for now!! -

firstly we would like to wish everyone all the best for 2019. We ended 2019 on a high with our very first conger eel to the boat. it wasn't a monster but weighed in at 3lb 150z. We were surprised to see it come aboard on the uptiding grounds. The cod fishing continues to thrive with a better stamp of cod coming over the rails and in good numbers. If 2018 fishes anything close to 2018 then were in for another great season. For more info or to join us on one of our trips contact barry on

firstly we would just like to wish all our customers old and new a merry Christmas and a prosperous New year. The fishing over the last couple of weeks has been fantastic with the rods nodding non stop. Each trip has averaged over 50 codlings but our trip yesterday 28th December was the best of the uptiding season so far with over 100 cod boated up to 6lb . The majority were all over 3lb so a great stamp of fish between 4 anglers. Bait of choice was blacks and dirty squid and cart. We continue to get to sea as much as we can with the winter weather which has been surprisingly good for the time of year and long may it continue. Tight lines for now!!

We will continue uptiding right into early next year and hope to get as many days at sea as possible weather permitting. Tight lines for now !!!
