Massive thanks to John and the guys for travelling over today for a private charter; fantastic weather, flat seas and great craic! We set up for the last wreck of the day, and then got distracted for about an hour by an incredible display, by what we believed to be a Minke Whale, while it played / breached around the boat only metres away..we ended up getting back to Royal Quays Marina over an hour late

Cracking run out on a sunny Sunday; we spent the majority of the day finding shoals of mackerel, shoals of haddock, coalies, and whiting with the occasional gurnard (and even a weaver fish). Some lovely codling also making an appearance on feathers!

Massive thanks to Mukta and the lads for driving through the night, to get to Royal Quays Marina for an early start, all the way from Manchester.

The instruction was to find the Mackerel, which wasn’t difficult today; we were pretty much overrun from the first drop.

After Sunday’s tough grind, it only seemed right to put the guys onto some wrecks and see if the Codling were back on the feed.

We only managed to get round three wrecks, as they were fishing hard and into some great Codling and Ling which was great to see!

We had plenty of time to sort their catch on the steam home.

Great craic today, and safe journey on their drive home; I’m off to sample a home made biriyani and rice gifted by one of the guys who has a restaurant in Oldham :-)

Massive thanks to the lads for travelling from all over the country today. After yesterday’s extravaganza, on the one hand we we're expecting a great day out, but on the other, it had crossed our minds that there was no way it was going to be so easy two days in a row.

It was tops off when we departed Royal Quays Marina; this didn't last long…no sooner than we had made the first stop off a chilly wind picked up way beyond what was forecast, which in turn whipped up a nasty little North Easterly swell, the kind with short intervals which relentlessly bounced you from wall to wall.

Thankfully the lads were here today to find some Mackerel, which we did, pretty much non stop for the entire day.

It was also good to see some stocky Coalies coming up in good numbers, Pouting, Whiting, small Codling and a decent number of smaller Haddock.

Whilst we were predominantly targeting Mackerel, two or three of the lads were hunting some codling for pan, which they found, but there wasn’t really anything noteworthy other than a single fish coming in a just shy of 8 lb (for your first ever time sea fishing I’d count that as a win!)

The sea conditions made things uncomfortable, the wind was relentless, but notwithstanding, the fishing was pretty much non stop with another day full of good craic and mountains of fillets for the freezer :-)
