jfk two breezy weekend plenty fish

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Monday 2nd may
been out today a little breezy but really comfortable aboard jfk two.
opted for the inshore marks again today, with the stiff breeze, again fish from the first drop. [hadn't even stopped the engines yet]
3 rods straight into fish, lovely clean white bellied spring cod. 2.5 to 4lbs, lovely start.
and steady away practically all day. the odd slower spell, but then a mad burst of fish.
coming over the gunnels. mostly 2 to 4lbs but then you would hit, spells of cod around the 6lbs mark. all the fish giving a cracking fight, fighting as if they were twice the weight they are in the shallow water.
everybody having a good day, best angler john taking 18 fish home others ant and dan taking 12 -14 fish each,
overall a lovely day out [despite the wind and rain]
there's no doubt the spring cod have arrived in force both on the wrecks and inshore

    SPRING AT LAST
managed a day out Sunday 29th march
actually turned out to be a nice springs day, feeling pleasantly warm and a nice sea state for a change.
feels like we've eventually turned the corner now
and the fishing wasn't to bad either with fish off most wrecks we visited, nothing massive but a nice stamp of fish
mainly in the 5-7lbs range with the best angler spawny jimmy taking 9 fish the others averaging around 6 a piece.
the best cod going 7lbs and also Pollack to 7lbs and also a couple of early season catfish [wolfish]
    roll on the summer,
    cheers allan

    sun 18th oct
out today only to be greeted by 2 to 3mtr seas with white tops from the NE.
so off to the first wreck with are expectations at a low.
however bang bang bang, loads of lovely big mackerel. followed by 6 or 7 nice cod3-5lbs,
on the shads jiggers and baited daylites. this was two hours of non stop fishing picking up cod whiting and some lings for 1.5hrs, when you couldn't touch bottom without being hit losing it them then straight into another fish.
eventually it slowed as we lost all the tide, so off to a little ling mark I know fishes at slack
sure enough first go a 10lbs ling, next go 11lbs cod. nice fish considering the crappy conditions.
round again and neils got something better on, a lovely 22lbs ling. closely followed by peter with a ling of15.5lbsnice fish every wreck we visited fished, we took over 90 fish mostly cod but well over 20 Pollack
and 7-8 double figure fish taken ,cracking days fishing for late October and in lumpy seas

    sat 26th sept
another canny day. September has always been the month of big lings, and with plenty of mackerels still available in big numbers for bait, again off looking for lings.
surprisingly little drift over the wrecks for such a big tide. this proved ideal for the lings, with up to 4 or 5 lings a drift coming over the gunnel, mostly 5-6 lbs lings and the occasional 10-12lbs lings thrown in,
steadily working are way offshore every wreck producing fish,
not so many cod a few to 8lbs but more Pollack 5-8lbs than cod.
the ling also getting better up to 13 lbs
next wreck producing even better lings graham with a nice 17.5lbs and jimmy 19.5lbs ling
with over 60 fish taken. a lovely day for late sept

14 Jul 2015 by Allan Skinner

    14th july cod 26lbs lings 21.5lbs and 20.5lbs
today was a lovely flat day, so we decided to go hunt down some ling. we spent some time to get the mackerel we would need, didn't take to long as they have been patchy.
off to a wreck we know is capable of producing good ling.a steady stream of cod and ling started to come aboard.
a nice stamp of fish with both ling and cod into double figures. bamba then says got a better one on, turns out to be a lovely ling of 21.5lbs.kept working our way offshore with fish coming from every wreck. ross nailing another ling 20.5lbs, now 2 nice fish over 20lbs
still pushing offshore the next wreck seen keith into a nice fish, thinking another nice ling over 20, but even better it turned out to be a cracking 26lbs cod.
so a red letter day all round, about 100
and 3 fish over 20lbs best a 26lbs cod lovely
