It is some of the biggist tides of the year at the moment and the WCSA spring festival is underway and last 2 days of the competition we had dropped the ankhor as Uptiding seems to be the best option with the massive toads and the Algie bloom making fishing hard on the wrecks .
Here is a shot of the lads from Sunday with a few if there fish they around 40 cod upto 7 lb some very nice plump cod in very good condition caught in 60 ft of water . -

A lovelly day at sea yesterday the lads and lasses onboard were all excited coditiond were good a small tide perfect for the inshore wrecks .
The Algie bloom has come early April and the water isn't very clear so everybody is armed to the teeth with plenty of squid it wasn't long before the cod were hitting the deck plus an odd ling then one of the lads got a cat fish which aint that common these days then we got another and to my amaizment we got another that's 3 catfish in one trip which is very unusual nowadays all in all everybody got between 8-10 cod each and dirk was the man to get a double figure cod 10lb 7oz a very long fish which had spawned which took one of the daily prizes in the spring festival .
Here is dirk with his double figure cod which is the biggist cod so far in the festival. -

A break in the weather yesterday allowed us to hit the wrecks small tides and the water clearing it was a perfect combination to get right among the cod .
I told the lads the game plan plenty of squid and don't forget the shads bait is usually best at this time of year but shads can also be deadly and the lads got really nice treat the fishing was very steady around 100 cod onboard at the end of the day my good friend rob managed well over 20 cod he managed the biggist just under 10 lb there was also pollock and some lings .
Here are the lads with just a few of there fish . -

After my week away in Spain i was keen to get back at it my lads for Sunday were hot on the phone was the trip on YES was the answer I told the lads get armed with squid and blacks the deadly cod combination .
We set sail at 8 and in 10 minuites flat the lines were over the side and bang the rods were bouncing the fishing was good plenty of cod coming aboard nothing massive but the lads finished with around 90 cod upto 6-7 lb the best lad onboard couldn't go wrong he find he'd up with around 20 codf himself the Uptiding has been excellent this winter and is still fishing very well .
This man couldn't go wrong .
