Again another belter on the cod here at whitby had paul bloors compaany corporate day on Sea -Otter 2 and what a day the lads had non stop action its alive here at whtby its going to a hell of a summer the water still has may bloom so just whats its going to fish like when it clears is nobodys buisness.

Due to a very last minuite cancellation yesterday of a full boat i got a call from a gentleman who wanted to take his son on a days fishing so with a lovelly forcast i agreed to take just the 2 of them now this does not happen very often 2 getting the who boat to yourselves unless book a full charter its a bit of fun for myself and my crewman dave he can do some fishing .
The father and son have done some fishing the young norbert who is 14 years old hasnt caught what you would call a good sized cod well this was about to change and the look on his face when his rod is bent double says it all .
Here they are father and son a day they will not forget quickly personal bests for both on the cod great to see. -

The cod fishing here at whitby is on fire at the moment shads are dyno mite and are hammering the cod .
These 2. Lads chartered the whole boat on Sea-Otter 2 and what a day they had never done any shad fishing but with a little tuition they soon got knack and it was fish after fish they loved it .
There next charter is June they can't wait it's looking like a cod boom here at whitby so fingers crossed for summer to kick in and the weather to settle down .

Had just 2 lads chartering the whole boat on Sea-Otter 2 today steve and chris never done any shad fishing before and just like yesterday this sort of fishing was all new but as i said to the boys work your shad right and the fish will be on them like a rash .
The lads didnt want to go till 9am so a late start but as the morning went on the wind increased i had a wreck only a couple of mile off i wanted to target the water is clearing by the day and some of wrecks tight inshore fish there nuts off in the right conditions and today my choice proved to be the right one .
Steve also soon got right into the action they had a little wager so competition was a litte fierce but all in great humour the lads had a great day one they wont forget they have got a few trips booked so now shads are all the rage in there books they love it he they are with 2 nice fish they got together they chris ended up with around 25 cod and steve 18 so not a bad day on late start and we got back in harbour at 2 pm due to the wind getting stronger . -

The weather at the moment is a swine strong winds are keeping the charter fleet tied up but on bank holiday monday there was a window only really a few hours but i told the lads score and they were right up for it the team onboard have fishied with me for i dont know how many years Brian Cunningham and boys the lads just love fishing with shads but i told them it would be around lunchtime before the conditions would ease and the wind drop off .
We dropped the ankhor till around lunchtime then the wind did just as it said it would and eased away we had taken around 20-25 codling uptiding not bad for may and one or two around the 5lb mark but as isaid i promished the lads some shadding and that is just what they got i had one wreck in mind which i know has been fishing well some of lads stayed on full squid and 3 of them rigged up on shad the water was little green not the best when the tide is running hard the algie is around at the moment but it was starting to slow first go over the wreck the lads on the shads there rods went straight over cheers alound round the boat i knew we were in few hours good fishing next go over the wreck everybody on shad and next time round all the rods were over every body into fish the lads were loving it .
At the end of the day the lads finished with around 70 - 80 codlings so not bad all very happy and a hell of a lot more to come if i had got a full day at it we could have had something a lot lot better but the lads were still well happy they know whats coming here at whitby the signs are all there its going to be a big summer here on the cod .

Sea - Otter 2 just got pipped on the line on the last day in spring festival here at whitby but the lads still did very well Sea- Otter 2 won the most daily cash prizes in competition .
The summer festival £5000 1st prize is the next competition again Sea -Otter 2 has won it 3 out of the last 6 years thats very good going and some mega money for the boys .
The cod fishing is very good indeed here at whitby and th catch rate on Sea - Otter 2 is second to non the summer is looking awesome on the cod scene shads are dynomite here at the moment .
Micks unlucky fish leading right to the end. -

Sea Otter 2 storms into the lead in whitby charter skippers spring festival only 2 days left in the comp so fingers crossed for mick Littlewood he could be £1000 richer on Sunday night .

Its been an awesome week for cod on Sea Otter 2 the fishing has been mad to say the least the lads have seen the excellent fishing this week the wrecks have fishing very well indeed the tides just jump a bit now so probably a last shot at the uptiding tomorow but you never know what in store .
The stamp of fish has been very good indeed some excellent sport here at whitby the summer looks awesome. -

The guys on Sea Otter 2 have been hammering the cod another excellent day these 3 lads chartered Sea-Otter 2 and they had over 70 cod between them today its boom time a lot more to come its alive with cod here at whitby Sea-Otter 2 is right up there in the spring festival catch rates on this boat are second to non.
