    More nice fish today on sea-otter 2 this man gets a nice cod 13lb and pollock 9lb there was stacks of ling onboard as well .

    Late summer festival coming up Sea-Otter 2 has had 2 ling around the 20lb mark in the last couple of weeks getting ready to nail the big one in the festival which starts on 14th and finishes on the 29th still some places left .
    Sea -otter 2 has won more festivals in the last 10 years than any other charterboat in the whitby fleet .

    Once again we are holding the Whitby Sea Angerls Forum winter uptiding competition with a top prize of £1000 to the angler with the biggist cod over the 2 week competition.

    If your unfamiliar with this type of fishing just take a look at the results of last years competition to show what quality fish can be taken it was won with 20lb cod caught caught only 300yds from the shore plus stacks of cod between 3-7lb range

    The competition will run from the Sun 2nd nov- Sat 17 th nov inclusive 2013 .

    There is only 3 boats runnig this competition sea-otter 2 is one of them .

    With a top prize of £1000 for the angler with the heaviest cod caught over the 2 weeks , this competition should once again be a major success.

    Fishing times are 8am till 4pm each day.

    There also prizes for 2nd and 3rd heaviest cod, as well as a prize for the heaviest fish of any other species. There is also a bonus prize for the heaviest bag of fish in the competition, as well as £50 for the heavist cod on the day.

    So come lads, uptiding is great fun, catching quality fish in shallow water. Twenty pound+ cod have been caught here at Whitby whilst using the uptiding method. The fish are certainly there to be caught this year and we are anticipating some big catches.

    Entry fee is £5 per angler, plus your boat charter fee . There is some fantastic prize money up for grabs, and only 3 boats can fish in this competition so its 1st come first served book early.

    Had local builders K and D onboard yesterday and with a very small tide perfect combination for big ling to stick there noses out and sure enough that is exactly what happened first time boat fishing John Wood got belter of a ling my eletric scales got damaged the other day so it couldnt be weighed exact and my spring balance only go to 16lb and that bottomed out instantly with the weight of the fish it looked around the 18-20lb a bonny fish john was over the moon .

    John with his whopper a big smile he took the sweep one of the lads lost one as big couldnt do nothing with just slipped the hook.

    Well all i can say is this young man certainly knows how to fish jack is only 12 years old but at his age what an angler he was showing his elders just how to go on and this isnt a one off i remember being his age keen as mustard this lad is a very good angler.

    Jack got this cracking ling just short of 15lb one of a few we got today in the teens but he also still got amoung the cod with the shads as well.

    A nice day at sea with fairly light winds i decide to head south down towards scarborough as the tides are now well on there way down we fished 6 or 7 wrecks some produced well with some cracking cod one man got 2 lovelly fish one 11lb and 10lb another lad also got a nice fish just under 10 lb plus quite a lot around 5- 7lb mark plus plenty of ling thrown in as well the cod fell the shads and ling to bait.

    On sunday Andy Parrs team was onboard the forcast was for it blow up mid afternoon but by late morning the lads had allready nailed some lovelly fish Andy got a cod 12lb but it was Andy mate John who took the money with a cracking cod nudgeing 15lb two belting fish and it didnt stop there the lads also ammased quite a few fish cod and ling so they we well over the moon.

    Another belter of a day and once again the inshore fishing is fishing very very well this time year with the gin clear water it comes alive on the 3 mile rough ground some very good fishing stacks of cod and also stacks of ling a lot in the teens .

    A few fish from today paul on the right had 20 cod himself and 8 ling all on the shad the lads who fished bait hammered the ling .

    yesterday shads fishing very well today the shads didnt fire as well as yesterday today bait did the most damage and bait even took the best cod on the boat which was just onces under 15lb the lads today were from whitehaven they had some belting ling quite a few between 12-15lb all on fresh mackeral some bonny fish .

    This young man got a cracking ling bouncing between 14-15lb.

    With my vessel still out of action till wednesday when my gearbox gets reinstalled i took saxon lady to see today The breeze in the morning was farly fresh but not to bad and we were catching fish the wind was more south than southeast makeing the drift not to bad the ground fished ok with codling coming steady on the shads but i did say to the lads after dinner would be fun time we would nail the better fish as the tide eased and the wind fell away a perfect combination for going wrecking ,

    It wasnt long before double figure cod and ling were hitting the deck the lads on today were from southport and beverly they all caught some really nice fish but it was these 2 lads that got the biggist and one of the lads his first time on a boat he got both double figure cod and ling the ling touching 15lb so what a day he had .

    More quality cod .

    With the small tides a perfect combination to nail the cod and ling on the inshore wrecks today the lads had over 100 fish on the boat some cracking double figure cod and ling came aboard once again some really nice fish the lads had a belter.
