Been uptiding again today it fished fairly steady codling coming no doubles today but all the same a lovelly day at sea and the lads all caught cod .

Friday and saturday saw some calm winter weather big tides perfect for winter uptiding the lads were not to be disapointed some real quality fish over the 2 days squid and cart doing the buisness , windy today but off again sunday as it calms down.

Well the weather here has been horrible to say the least this week coming looks like after tuesday it calms right down so we should be at sea so fingers crossed a few spaces wenesday if anybody fancys a whirl.

Camera lead was shot so only just got the photos up on the computer this was from last weekend the lads had a lovelly days uptiding plenty of cod for the lads 16lb and 17lb cod caught from the shore this week here at whitby so it just shows the qualtity of fish where we go uptiding a 20lb cod won the uptiding festival caught 400yds from the shore some cracking fishing be to had just need a break in in this horrible weather sea-otter 2 works 12 months of year when the wrecking days are lost due to bad weather uptiding can still go ahead and the rewards can be fantastic if its cod you are after whitby is the place.

A belter of a day yesterday for the lads they hammered the cod on the shads over 150 fish onboard plus a nice day at sea weather looks poor this week all the signs look very good just need another break in this awfull weather.

Sunday was the last day of the uptiding festival here at whitby sea-otter 2 was leading to the very last day of the competition with an 11lb cod but it was beaten with a 20lb cod on the last day caught only 400yds from the shore all the same we had cracker on the last day stacks of cods the best ounces of 11lb the best bag of cod on the boat was over 40lb .
This was the best cod on the day just under 11lb caught just 300yds from under the cliffs one of many.
Whitby is unique not only is the wreck fishing for cod here at whitby probably the best in the country , during the winter months they move inshore in droves with loads of fish just a stone throw from the shore when the wreck fishing for cod is on hold because of the weather you can still gets come cracking fishing uptiding , distance means nothing here at whitby 20lb cod can be caught minuites from the harbour you are not steaming for hours to catch quality fish .

What week on the uptiding festival its fishing its nutts off more double figure cod its great to see fish of this quality just a stone throw from the shore this fish takes 2nd place in the comp a bonny fish for sponsore glen kilpatrick

Its the uptiding festival this week and its fishing well had the lads on from boat fishing monthly dave baram and jim midgeley and it was jim who thought he had hooked the £1000 winner for the week its a cod only comp but there is a prize for the biggist any other species i think jim thought that he had hooked the winner over the week but it turned out to be a ling it went just onces under 20lb caught in 60ft of water did it fight very well done jim.

The first day on uptiding festival here at whitby and sea-otter 2 has set the pace with a fine cod going over 11lb plenty of cod today for the lads plus the lovelly weather makes a very enjoyable day.
Colin with his 11lb cod plus he also sets the pace with the biggsit bag in the comp just under 30lb -

Girl power has been the norm on sea-otter 2 this young lady got right amoung the cod first time boat fishing and what a day cod to near on double figures what more could you ask.
