Well with some of the biggist tides this last weekend and with the weather being allmost like mid july i decided to give the uptiding a bash for the last time this winter it was a 5.9 tide a monster so the wrecking was only going to be hard work and even though it wasnt hectic the lads managed some really quality fish the best just an ounce or two under 10lb was the biggist on the day a bonny fish to say the least all in all the lads who were from the west coast manged quite a few fish between 4-7lb not a bad stamp.
Its wrecking from tommorow so lets hope and i have sneaky feeling we are in for some good fun.
This lad got the biggist just under 10lb -

Once again with a decent forcast it was chances to out uptiding the lads were keen as mustard we had all the baits onboard you could think of squid, mussel ,cart fresh yellowtails you name we had but the biggist fish fell to squid and worm but cart certainly did damage again most of the fish were over 5lb the best over 8lb but quite a few between 6-7lb all in all it wasnt thick and fast the morning on the ebb was little slow but come afternoon on the flood the fish came on with lovelly sized cod and we were only 400yds on saltwick nab .
The best lad on board had 10 codling betwenn 5-7lb not bad uptiding and great sport on light gear.
This man took the sweep with 8lb fish

With a break in the weather i had a team of lads on who love the uptiding so with the forcast being fine i told the lads plenty of squid and blacks for the session the fishing was very steady most of the with 90% of the cod between 6-8lb a very good stamp of fish seeing you are only fishing 500 yds from the cliff bottoms and with no steaming time what a better way to relax , the best fish of the day was 10lb 2 oz a nice size fish but as isaid most fish were between 6-8lb the lads were over the moon.

Winer uptiding is well underway here at whitby with double figure cod now showing plus there are stacks of cod between 3-6 lb also being taken wrecking is also doing well but the weather is hindering but as whitby does every winter the uptiding still gives the guys good cod fishing and only minuites from the harbour.
One of the lads from blackpool with a nice plump cod just over 10lb the lads had a bumper day with plenty of cod between 3-6lb they will be back. -
