A nice steady day’s fishing for Rich Kitchen and his mates yesterday. Plenty of cod and ling for the table.
The baited rigs doing the damage.
Cheers

After a couple of days off for miserable South Easterlies we made back to sea yesterday with a mixed group.
Fishing wasn’t startling for us but the lads all thoroughly enjoyed the day and the lovely weather and finished up with around 30 fish between them.
A small Wolf fish (our first of the year) was boated and safely returned too.
An odd day or too left with an odd place in the next 6 weeks.
Cheers

Yesterday we sailed out to the wall again as the fishing inside is still a bit naff with colouration in the water still.
40 or so keepers for the chaps with loads of Whiting too!
Unusual for out there.
Cheers and keep a tight line.

After the rubbish day we had on Friday we decided a run to the wall was in order yesterday.
The fishing wasn’t startling but the lads managed to gather around 30 fish for their efforts.
Codling to 5lb and a ling to around 6lb.
Squid baited rigs fishing the best.
This young lad showed the elders how to go on and also landed himself a nice double up!
Cheers

Talk about “after the Lord Mayor’s show!)
After the great fishing 2 and 3 weeks ago we returned back yesterday after a week off.
Completely crap is the way I’d describe it !!!
6 fish boated all day and 3 of those were chuck backs!
The last weeks Northerly swell on the big tides has scuppered us temporarily with the water clouding up again. Still, at least the sun shone and the sea was calm!
That’s why we call it fishing and not catching I guess and I’m a big believer in saying it as it is.
The current settled conditions will help clear it out quickly.
Cheers for now and hopefully today’s rods will bend more than they did yesterday LOL!!
Cheers

Chris Siddle fished with us yesterday along with others, but before we sailed he was presented with a very nice £500.00 in cash for his winning fish caught on the Shy-Torque III in this year’s Spring Competition.
Well done to him!
Well, what a day on the cod as well yesterday!!
The forecasts for the day were fine for the morning but turning a bit crappy for the afternoon so we decided an early start was in order.
All aboard for a 6.0am start it was then.
First stop, a wreck just 3 miles off, which produced 15 or so fish.
A move to the next wreck on the 6 mile for half a dozen fish.
It was the next 2 wrecks back inshore which really gave us some fantastic sport.
50+ fish off the 2 wrecks with doubles coming on board at times!
Best fish fell to Chris Siddle with a lovely cod of 7 lb.
All the lads getting 15 fish or so each.
A great day with good laughs all day too!
The Summer competition starts 26th June and runs for 3 weeks inc where bigger cash prizes are on offer.
Give me a call to get your places booked!
Cheers for now

Chris Siddle, the winner of the Spring Competition here at Whitby, came up today to collect his winner’s prize money.
Chris’s 9lb 3oz ling caught on the Shy-Torque III landed him a very nice £550.00 in cash!
That’ll buy a few shads mate!
Well done to him.
The Summer Competition starts next month on the 26th and runs for 3 weeks inclusive, where more big cash prizes are up for grabs!
Cheers and tight lines

A shaky start to the day working 3 offshore wrecks yesterday. The algae bloom making a reappearance on the 18 mile stretch.
15 fish or so from the first 3 marks.
A mooch back to some ground marks saving the day, where the lads picked a couple o’ dozen cod up.
Most of the fish boated on the baited rigs.
Ivan Davey having the best bag of the day with 11 cod and 1 ling.
Great weather and great company again.
Cheers

A slower day for yesterday’s lads.
Perfect glass calm conditions but the fish weren’t as active for us with maybe 25 fish boated and a few chuck backs.
Nevertheless, a lovely day on the water with great company.
Cheers

Some lovely fishing on the cod yesterday morning for the lads .
The ground fishing the best for us.
My old mate Simon joined us for an unannounced run off which was good and he ended up with the best catch on the boat with a dozen lovely plump cod.
Returned back a bit early with the dreaded South Easterly pepping up in the afternoon which spoiled the drift.
Simon pictured inset with a few of his fish.
Cheers
