Feb 2016
As we are approaching spring the sun is starting to get some warmth in it's rays, the fishing through Feb was good on the days you could get to sea with lots of congers, small whiting, Rays and some good size Spurdogs. Check out the latest video posted and see if you star in it, it is not about the biggest fish caught more about the enjoyment and pleasures of fishing. -

Hi
Due to the weather we have suffered this winter the fishing has been limited to last minute weather windows during these the fishing has been extremely good with good catches of Ray's, Congers, Spurdogs and plenty of Whiting . The Flounder fishing inside Poole Harbour has exceeded expectations not in size but the quantities have been good, doing your homework on tides and having local bait seems to be the key to success.
As we look forward to the coming months inshore the Plaice will arrive in March and the sporting Black Bream soon after, offshore the wrecks will start to produce good size Pollack followed by everyone's favourite the Cod in May, during these periods heading to the banks will produce Turbot and Brill.
To avoid missing out as the diary fills up give me a call to secure the dates of your choice, the schedules shown are not always up to date so a call is advisable.

At last the cold weather is here and the Flounder fishing has seen some superb catches with the best being 36 in a day, the fish containing spawn are all being returned. Channels, Cod, Congers, Ray's and Spurdog continue to dominate the catches outside the harbour and on the weaker tides the fishing has been exceptional. The outer banks produce some great fishing now until the end of February during what is normally a quiet period inshore, so why not try something different and go for a big Ray or a possible record breaking Spurdog.

The year has started with more bad weather but a brief weather window on Wednesday will allow us to use some of the bait in our freezers, if you are free and fancy a trip please let me know.
All the best

The year is ending but the bad weather just keeps rolling in, on the odd fishable day and I mean the odd day we managed to get out the results were good with whiting being the main target as the Cod seem to be avoiding me at present. On the only trip over the festive period we landed Bass of 8lb 12ozs and a new PB for Keith Trim of 10lb 6ozs along with Ray's, Congers, Smoothhounds, Gurnards, some good size Whiting in all we caught 9 different species (which is not bad for this time of year). As the tide turned we had to seek shelter but still caught fish. Looking forward I wish you all tight lines and a Happy New Year.

Hi
With the unseasonal warm weather and the prolonged gales we are suffering the fishing trips have been hit hard during the last 4 weeks 14 of the 16 trips have been cancelled but on the occasions we did get out the catches were good with quality and quantity of Whiting backed up by Ray's, Congers, Bass, Winter Pollack, big Pout and the bait robbing Swanage Bay Reefshark (dogfish) which hammered every bait the minute it hit the sea bed. We are still catching the summer species Gurnards, Smoothhounds pups and a few Mackeral. Although Cod are our main target they have illuded me since winning the top charter boat prize in the Poole Cod comp.
Poole harbour is producing good numbers of Flounders on the right tides and this type of fishing is very relaxing and great fun on ultra light gear.
During the Christmas week I am operating every day so if you would like a days fishing please give me a call.
All the best and wishing you all
