    Hi
with the recent weather being somewhat un reliable we took the opportunity of the weather window being offered on Bank Holiday Monday to venture to the wrecks to look for Cod and Pollack, we fished several wrecks which all produced good numbers of small to medium Cod and Pollack, this certainly bodes well for the next few weeks, along with that the Black Bream in Poole Bay have increased in quality and numbers making this the ideal time to get afloat and target them. Mackeral are being caught which will herald the arrival of the Bass and Tope shortly. For more info on what is being caught from Poole or to book a place on board to catch Cod , Pollack or Black Bream please give me a call.

Since my last report the offshore banks have fished extremely well for Spurdogs and Rays with fish in the 20lb class on both species, one angler broke his PB Spurdog 3 times on the same trip. I hope you take the opportunity to come and fish aboard the Mistress Linda this season.
Poole Town Quay is to receive extensive flood defence work lasting approx 13 weeks at the eastern end (opposite Thistle Hotel area) and pick up points will vary so please confirm with whoever you are fishing with. Sea Fishing Poole is to be temporarily relocated outside of the Poole Quay boat haven entrance directly opposite Tesco express and the Quay Cafe (which serves a cracking breakfast for those of you who want to take advantage before the trip starts) Steve and his team are dedicated to remaining open for your last minute tackle and bait requirements

Today Mark Turner landed a PB Cod of 27lb 4ozs and the best so far this season on the boat, along with this superb fish we had another Cod of 17lb 12ozs lots of congers to 40lb and the usual mix of channels , pout and the ever present dogfish. The fishing from Poole during the winter season is now at its best with good catches of channel whiting coming aboard and lots of sport with congers, Rays, Spurdogs, and the main target Cod.

I would like to wish all my anglers and every other angler a Merry Christmas and tight lines for next year, this year has not run true to form, mackerel were scarce for best part of the summer and several species you would expect to catch abroad were caught in our waters. The cod and whiting fishing from Poole is in full swing and the best cod to my knowledge by a Poole boat is a cracking 34lb I could only manage a 15lb12oz one for my anglers yesterday along with some nice whiting. The SFP cod comp is now on the 28th December and should produce some fine fish if you fancy entering it give me call for details. Last week I did a flounder trip in Poole Harbour and ended up with 18 nice fish but the most impressive part of the trip was the stunning scenery and wildlife we saw during the day. Over the next few weeks the I expect several flounders around the 4lb to be landed and some good cod in the 30lb class then after Christmas the offshore banks will come alive with good catches of Spurdogs poss record size and blond rays in numbers. Merry Christmas.

After a long miserable winter the season is finally getting underway, the local banks have produced some good ray fishing with blondes to 25lb undulates to 17lb along with quite a few good quality spurdogs to 18lb and congers of various sizes ranging from baby straps to 70lb+. The water is still cloudy after all the gales but as each day passes the clarity improves and the fishing will follow, offshore wrecking has been slow this month but after the warm period we are having I expect this to change. The pics show the anglers into fish and enjoying themselves which is what fishing is all about. It is time for the prized turbot to appear along with the plaice in good numbers and our favourite summer species the bream will soon be here. I look forward to seeing all my regular crews this season and welcome any new additions. Good fishing

After a long cold spell the fishing is starting to come alive, the Pollack have appeared on the wrecks in good size and numbers but most of our time has been either Ray fishing on the smaller tides or Turbot fishing we have landed good fish up to 20lb so far and although several small ones have been put back for another day the numbers have been good, due to popular request I will be doing more mid week trips in March, if your up for Pollack, Rays or Turbot please call.
