This last weekends small tides made for some good fishing conditions here at Portrush. We managed full day with a team from Belfast on Saturday. Sunday was the MET club. The lads also benefited from some lovely weather and we were able to get them amongst the fish really well.

We started on the ground on the inside marks for mackerel bait drop. After half an hour we decided to push off shore to a couple of wrecks I have which I knew hadn't been touched for a good month or so. The first wreck produced around 15 fish to 7lb and the second producing much better with around 25 fish with cod to just short of 10lb.

The lads were made up with the day for being fortunate enough to drop on great weather and great fishing.

Most of the fish were taken on the full squid and jelly's.

    Portrush Angling Breaks -

A few days away fishing out of Portrush along with the social side is a nice trip to do.The variety of fishing and the amount of different species caught at Portrush is probably second to none. There are plenty of places to stay which are angler friendly and some excellent places to wine and dine around the harbour.

If you want to try a Portrush Angling Break then contact me, I cater for whole boat charters and individuals.
Planning your trip well in advance is essential you need to arrange your boat booking and your accommodation as early as possible to avoid disappointment, some of my regular groups plan their trips at least 12 months in advance, this allows them to discuss with me the best tides for the type of fishing they are targeting.
