Top angler of the year award on High Flyer 2 this year goes to David Jones (Norfolk)firstly because hes on the boat more than i am! Holder of our boat record for smoothound (returned) this year featured in Sea Angler and Saltwater Angling magazines also with double figure bass (returned). Dave is always helping others ,explaining tactics, bait presentation etc, undoing tangles! From me personally a big thank you mate for your support through the hard days, all seasons and weathers, your enthusiasm rubs off on others always a pleasure to have you onboard. Tight lines for 2018 Dave . Jon (High Flyer 2)

Weekend of 18th/19th November 2017 bringing us up to date. Been so windy lately all our fishing has been inshore but with surprising results. Picture today is of Des Gunton (Norfolk) with our best cod to date this season of 7.5lbs , the cod havent really turned up yet just odd fish about but the water temperature is slowly dropping currently at 9 degrees so hoping for some cold weather soon. The whitting have been grabbing the baits soon as they hit the water pleased to have them about really but at times they are a pain! The odd skate still about inshore have noticed a serious decline in the spotty dogs which is very handy proves water temp is falling . One lucky angler Paul got a nice surprise of a 3lb lobster mouth hooked as well doesnt often happen good for him.
Soon as wind decreases we will get out to some deeper water to have a look about but not this week either with cancelled trip again tomorrow so bit testing. Looking like coming weekend inshore again but with few nice surprises that we been having least were getting fish keeping people happy. Big thanks to all for weekend despite the wind and cold appreciate you all coming out, until next time tight lines everyone.

Well its been a waiting game this past month everyones wanting a cod the reality of the situation is we have only had the odd one a trip probably in my opinion due to the unusually high water temperature at the moment but it is coming down last recorded sun 12th Nov at 10.5 degrees. The whitting have kept us extremely busy which we should be grateful for some nice keepers among them but honestly who wants pictures of strings of whitting? Been lucky with a few skate still hanging about also the spotty dogs which are now thinning out thank god and also the odd decent pouting making a show. Nice to see a bit of conservation as all skate and codling been returned. Picture today is of Brian cant mention his last name which is Hopper press ganged into having his picture taken as all we had was whitting to show so thanks mate! Lost quite a few trips due to the windy conditions last few weekends still got few places in December at weekends website up to date or midweek we will make a trip up if we can just ring or text will get things in place. Until then pray for cold weather and tight lines everyone. Cheers Jon (High Flyer 2)

Been a very windy week gusts up to 45mph from storm Brian lost most days but managed to sneak out Sun 22nd as wind turned west. Hugged the shore as we had to only boat there! We had fish right from the start to finish basically whitting and doggies a cast on a quite strong tide. Picture of few keeper whitting.Fish returned were 4 small codling, 3 small female skate, shame wernt bigger but early days for cod. Water temp at 14 degrees at moment not cod water but should start to get colder soon nearly november.! Big thanks to Dean for organising everybody much appreciated looking forward to next trip.
Few dates left for weekends up till xmas at the moment dont get caught out, have new diary and tide timetables for 2018 now so tope or wrecking trips get sorted before they go. Will be starting few night trips soon as few more cod appear 6pm till midnight same cost keep eye on website, until then tight lines people. Cheers Jon (High Flyer 2) -

Bringing us up to date very pleased with new vessel plenty of positive comments from most people especially the press button flush toilet! You would think the snazzy rod holders or seating arrangements no the bog! Its been great couple of weeks really all local boats catching some last minute thornbacks most of ours returned to be honest great for conservation as you can see by the photos. Plenty of very small skate mainly females all returned not worth a picture but great to see. The smoothounds have gone means water is getting colder spotty dogs a pain still one a cast really and yes the whitting are here in numbers keeping us too busy the little bait robbers. Few nice ones among them biggest so far 47cm for us. We have had few codling but still too warm need them leaves off the trees and icy windscreens dont think it will be too much longer lots of geese flying overhead now.Picture today of Trevor Pankhurst had a good few skate with us over the week from London thanks for coming out Trevor.Looking ahead soon as codling appear in reasonable numbers will arrange few night trips as to the weekends ahead limited space now up to xmas do get booked in or i wont be able to get you on Sat/Sun . Midweek trips will make trips up if you fancy certain dates get in touch. So looking forward to our next chapter winter, cup of soups, thermals on, and me in a heated wheelhouse!!! Hopefully see you soon on High Flyer 2. Jon

Pleased to announce new vessel High Flyer 2 is now in service a Procharter P4 with Cummins 480HP turbo cruising around 20 knots capable of 30 knots if you want to pay for the fuel! Main feature is 4 metre beam with comfortable seating all round with outside deck toilet, press button eco flush system no more going downstairs feeling ill! Faster boat will come into use with our offshore trips cutting travelling time down more fishing. Latest Akios reels and Ugly Stik rods in use at the moment keeping the coding to ten plus two still even though we could have increased passengers the thought was to give maximum comfort and space. Obviously full safety spec , lifejackets available on request, safety briefing before every trip as usual.
We do use the Paypal Deposit System on the website of £20 per place booked fully refundable on bad weather etc due to the increasing problem of non showing persons leaving us standing on the quay particularly annoying when you refuse others because the boat is full. Please dont be offended by this unfortunately in place due to a small minority of people.
Website up to date daily so reliable, if you wish us to make up a trip on a certain date we will do our best to do so we cater for single bookings, boat bookings must cover the ten places financially up to you how many you divide that by, specialist trips catered for wrecking etc. Normal inshore trips £45 per head using own tackle , add £5 using ours to cover losses /replacement.
So looking forward to being of service, cod season should be upon us shortly dont miss out as weekend dates are going already up to xmas hope you can join us on High flyer 2. Until then,
tight lines everyone.
Jon (High Flyer 2)
