Bringing us up to date to weekend of 28th/29th Nov, extremely windy conditions gusts of 54mph but fortunately for us the wind being west we could get out. Sat proved bit rainey at times reasonably testing no cod today plenty of whiting some lovely keepers among them, everyone hauling in at times they are a nuisance but least everyones busy! Couple of flatties as well but whiting non stop all day. Thanks to Paul and his team for the day was good to meet you boys finally, as for Sunday much the same, only one codling caught by yours truly enjoyed the ribbing i dished out to poor lads, everyone caught plenty whiting all day again. Picture today of Cambell with cracking whiting of 44cm around 2,5 pounds lovely to see shame not more of them. Big thanks to Cambell for organising the lads was an enjoyable day all round headed home as winds gusted 40mph plus at 4 o clock least we got the day in. Was the only boat out on Sat place to ourselves and today accompanied by 2 other Gt Yarmouth charter boats no one else came out ! Thanks to everyone from the weekend despite the wind, looking forward to when these cod come in properly hopefully soon, until then tight lines from the High Flyer. Jon.

This report covers the weekend of 14th/15th Nov 2016, a very windy day gusts of 54mph westerly today so hugged the shore both days as you can imagine. Lucky for us on west ,south west we can hide up under the cliffs so still able to get a day in . Only 3 boats out Sat no codling for any of us just whiting stealing all the baits, some spotty dogs of all sizes among them, few flatties over slack water and the odd pouting. Plenty of fish just the wrong sort. Sunday ended up much the same apart from the extremely windy conditions just 2 boats from Yarmouth were out today same old whiting all day, few better dogs as well, best fish of the day fell to Jeff Ball 6.3lb thornback ray pictured here ,nice to see probably about as the water temperature 13 degrees still! The other boat Seaquest had one cod only one today unfortunately need that cold weather to start coming in we are mid november for petes sake! Big thanks to everyone for the weekend especially Keith,Richard and Howard coming all the way from Brentwood, also Derek for organising everyone and Jeff for best fish of the day. Looking ahead to Tues 17th got few places left hopefully wind will drop give us a chance to get out a bit to have a look around further off until then tight lines everyone keep you all posted.

Bringing us up to date for weekend of 7/8th Nov, been bit of a mixed few weeks really still catching doggies water temperature 13 degrees still, then few codling up to 5lb . Have been plagued with whiting even though alot of keepers among them not really a fish you want to photo, so hence lack of pics lately! They have been stripping the baits catching two even three at a time but hopefully should be thinning out soon giving us half a chance. Last trip ended up on a bass Adam pictured here 48cm nice to see from a place bass seldom caught for us usually, also had 3 small thornbacks, 3 codling few flatties as normal and whiting all day. Very strong winds but managed to fish to mid afternoon both days before tide turned very lucky! Thanks to Dereham Angling club also to Pete our throttle man for his steady hand on way home! Looking ahead been asked for night trips will do just waiting for few more codling basically and weather turning colder if you want to be contacted and get on the list rather than see trips on website get your name down with me by email or text and you get prior notice, trips normally leave around 6pm till midnight same price nothing changes £45 add a £5 using my gear to cover losses. We will be trying the deeper water on upcoming trips when weather allows so if your booked on and we get a slot in the weather so be it, otherwise inshore but were extremely lucky for our constantly productive marks inside so lets look after them. Until next time tight lines everyone.

Bringing us up to date till 18th October 2015 been very lucky with some early codling making a show not in great numbers but very welcome. Slight problem has been vast shoals of very hungry whiting been a nightmare trying to keep a bait down. I shouldnt moan about loads of fish but i am! Few decent kepers among them also keeping people very busy so smiles all round. Soon as a bit of cold appears i would imagine the codling will arrive in numbers again so hopefully not too long. Still getting the odd smoothound on there way out sort of crossover period at the moment ,pictured today Sarah from our last trip having caught within only a few minutes having arrived at our spot. Couple of pouting nice to see so close in few dabs and those spotty dogs still hanging on today but only one codling today on the ebb i think they were there just didnt get a chance before the whiting! Tides picking up rest of the week after few bass for this wed 21st few places left if you fancy a trip of some places available at weekend for once due to a cancellation should that suit better. Well having lost Sat 17th due to strong winds the Sun proved non stop action unfortunately from whiting and not codling but was a most enjoyable day, big thanks to Barrys crowd also Matt and Dave joining us looking forward to the next one. Until then tight lines everyone.

This report covers two dates of Fri 2nd /Sat 3rd October both light winds for once and reasonably calm seas with a few hours sunshine would you believe! At the moment small whiting are in such numbers few keepers among them unfortunately stripping the baits nearing slack water the odd skate left isn't getting a look in! On friday few codling came aboard nice to see still bit early so not in great numbers. None were caught saturday but made up for it with bass from inshore bank some returned with our new 42cm rule good for conservation. The whiting just kept coming all day all places we tried couldnt shake them, all states of the tide but least kept everyone busy. Picture today is of young Bradley who braved a touch of sea sickness ended up skipper and put us on our final mark of the day glad he was there or we wouldnt have caught so many fish! Also to mention the spotty dogs of all sizes were still about all returned non kept, more sport for next year plus about half dozen flatties from the mud ground finished the day off nicely. In all not a bad few days plenty of fish about great weather for once . Many thanks to all especially those who have travelled to be with us, Peterborough, inner London, Bedford and all the way from Gorleston! looking forward to leaves falling , ice on the car and frosty windows will be coddy time! See you all soon.

Bringing us up to date Sunday 20th Sep weather lately been settled , tides fallen away , we got mixed bag really with few smoothounds still about and small spotty dogs but plagued with winter whiting already few keepers among them but mostly small. Nice to see few thornbacks turning up at last as they been hoildaying further south this season and also codling turning up pleasant surprise being so close to shore. Still going to head out this coming weekend if weather allows should be some big mackerel about and few tope following them so we shall see what happens forcast is supposed to be good but what thats worth hell knows! Picture here of Dereks trip with lads from Crayford and Abbs car people with few codling and doggies from the day.
Nice to see skate thrown back and those pouting and whiting well done for bit of conservation men. So looking forward to our next trip where hopefully should be a cod day and bit colder! As for rest of us will see what next few weeks brings hopefully get few more summer species before we batten down the hatches for winter hopefully you can join us on High Flyer soon. Dont forget those weekend dates are slowly filling up so do get in to avoid disappointment. Until then, tight lines everyone. Jon (High Flyer) -

Just to bring us up to date have had a rough deal lately with the weather strong south easts cancelled few trips no choice, all fishing has been inshore apart from one day when we managed to bash a few mackerel on the banks. At the moment plenty of whiting stripping our baits the bigger ones as keepers normally turn up end of this month as nights draw in. The spotty dogs still about all sizes even 6 inch specimens being hooked unbelievable! The smoothounds slowing up compared to last month but thats expected as the water temperature slowly drops still few being caught as you can see on catch photos. Having a little run of skate at the mo about time they showed up been bit slow for us this year as they seemed to hang about further south this year very welcome addition to this month. Started catching few early codling all in prime condition not really expecting any numbers till the first frosts usually but such a topsy turvey season this year anything could happen. Losing clarity now offshore ,winter round the corner soon be icey decks and smell of hot soup onboard and cod being the main quarry and people moaning about whiting and talk of christmas! Taking bookings for our cod season so as weekends go first please think ahead as every year i have dissapointed customers who cant get out as they ring week before they want to go and obviously were full. So looking forward to our winter season as had brilliant codling catches last year best for a long while hopefully those returned fish put on few more pounds heading straight for Corton as we speak! Thank you to all who have come out on High Flyer just lately especially with the way the weather has been its very much appreciated. Until next trip tight lines everyone.

Just to bring us up to date having had quite a poor month really same old struggle to get out with strong winds that have really not gone away so grateful for the smoothounds that have provided so much sport for us this summer keeping us busy. Last trip managed a reasonable bag of mackerel bit of sport for everyone, sandeels as well plus the pesky weavers thrown in and the odd gurnard always nice to see. Beaten again by the wind had to come inshore fish off winterton back to inshore whiting being a pain robbing the baits, few small smoothies and odd flatty. Our forcast of 8 to 10 knots rather 20 plus was going to prove a lumpy steam home so decided to head closer to port and fish just out the harbour resulting in some better smoothies one pictured here with Dave smith and a few small spotty dogs and usual whiting . One small cod surprised us so close in never can tell but thats fishing. Was a enjoyable day pity wind beat us would of been different day had we stayed on the banks with all that fresh bait i,m sure but always another day. my thanks to all the boys looking forward to next trip.
All the best,

Just to bring us up to date on local fishing in truth hasnt been the easist season so far, apart from the smoothounds which fortunately has kept us busy with some brilliant rod bending action for everyone the weather has really stuffed plans this year.Even though we have been able to get out the wind hasnt allowed us to get where we want to go! For us the skate have been patchy so far compared to last year but seen this before which generally gives us a run of fish end of summer hopefully. Been averaging few bass a trip new laws hopefully should improve the sport especially if the netting issue is addressed as promised by IFCA and 42cm rule has to help. For us the mackerel starting to show up further off in the clear water small at the moment but thats normal, Millions of sandeels again same as last year nice to see more gurnards on the feathers this year. Tope have been fantastic for North Norfolk seemed to have moved off a bit now, hopefully few this way ,will be looking at fishing for them soon as this wind eases for us. Have put the leaflet up on picture , FREE copy to anyone who wants one just email name and address will send through to you have reprinted another batch as Sea Angler ads wiped us out. Having had such a good codling season last year on this coast weekend bookings are already being taken for the winter so dont leave it too late if you have a trip your planning on any of our local Norfolk/Suffolk boats. So after having lost both days this weekend apoligies to the lads we had to cancel cant beat the weather never will, looking forward to few mackerel now hopefully tope on the banks few biggies among them and bit of wrecking thrown in and a suntan!! Until then tight lines everyone. Jon. (High Flyer)
