Just to update you had few nice smoothounds show up mixed in with some thornbacks weather been keeping in the eastern quarter alot so still slightly colder water for the time of year. hoping to see a spurt in numbers shortly as they do, not alot on the bass front for us at present they all seem to be hugging the beach and not on the banks but that will change. Got a few tope days with places here on website dont miss out as only can fish certain tides for them. High flyer had a revamp last week so dont wear your stilletoses on my newly painted deck!!! You can use the new toilet if you can figure it out. Looking forward to seeing you soon the weather can only get better. Fingers crossed.

Up to date report nice to see start of smoothounds not in great numbers but that will come. Water temp still needs to climb bring more thornbacks closer in, noticed crab life on the bottom starting to be a nuisance so summers on its way. Plenty of spotty dogs of all sizes and still catching whiting! The wind has been bit testing as late so not really had a chance to nip out for bass but hopefully after next week we will get to have a go. We are out water 9th May to 13th may for usual maintenance antifoul etc so no trips next week still ring me will find you a vessel if i can. Tope trips are filling up dont lose out only got certain tides dont forget . Due to fuel hike now running at £60 a day per person everything supplied or trying to do shorter day midweek £45 to help out with those on a budget. Will keep you all posted what happens this weekend follow us on Facebook under Jon Old or High Flyer Sea Fishing. Until then tight lines people. Cheers Jon.

Few thornbacks now showing off the Norfolk coast bit on the small side always are to start nice to see spring making a start now. Spotty dogs coming in as well still getting some decent whiting which seem to be all year round now. Picture today was off Rafal and son Jacob with first thornback and first trip on High Flyer 2.

One issue we have to address is the hike in fuel costs affects all businesses in every aspect so unfortunately us included will be asking £60 everything supplied a trip from April 1st 2022 those who find this difficult we are going to get round this by using our second vessel Seaquest and do a shorter day which might suit some especially with children and ask £45 everything supplied.

Our tope trips will be £75 per head this year everything supplied due to distance /fuel etc.

Looking forward to being of service this year despite the situation lets hope we get less wind this summer for a change!!! Get your date booked in if your coming to visit us saves any disappointment . Many thanks

Looking forward to spring this year been very tough here on us with very few codling this winter only now seeing odd one or two hoping we may have a little run soon. The whiting at times been prolific got us out of trouble to be honest! Caught thornbacks all winter not a bad thing give it a couple months we should be back in full swing with them hopefully and be moaning about spotty dogs as we always do. I say it every year but get your dates down for tope trips as the best tide days go fast and saves disappointment . Out for spurdogs middle of month new target species for us will keep you posted on that not the easiest of fish to target due to there feeding patterns but will see what we can do. Easy on a 5 mile longline not so easy on 100 yards behind a boat. Been asked alot to do father and son day again so when weather breaks will get organised on that . Looking forward to being of service will catch up with you soon,Tight Lines everyone,

We will be making up trips between xmas and new year so if you fancy going please get in and book up few dates before xmas still left. Leave it with you best to text on 07920043979 . Cheers Jon (High Flyer 2 Gt Yarmouth)

Apologies to everyone since losing my Hayley to cancer things on here have gone haywire as she used to upload pictures etc for me , been keeping myself busy revamping another charter boat called Seaquest which is now ready to run alongside High Flyer 2 this was a Yarmouth boat all its life built local as well skipper/owner has retired so now all revamped and modernised ready to go. Had our best tope to date this year as featured in Saltwater Boat Angling of 60lb ,alot of 55lb this year so very pleased with that. Our bass seems to be improving this year biggest only 9lb though but plenty in the 6/7 lb mark. Smoothounds were poor this year i felt couldnt get a peeler crab or hermit for love of money very strange . Hoping we get a cold winter for a change to bring a few cod in need that water temperature down do us all a favour. Would like to thank everyone for there continued support we ran out at a loss with covid for months didnt increase our fees and still normal trip £50 everything supplied . Everything has gone up fuel especially, our insurance and toll fees plus baits like lug £24 per 100 so due to all the letdowns who book a place and dont turn up or 9pm on a friday night come up with excuse we are going to enforce the Paypal deposit system on here of £20 per head and rest on the day shame on all the reliable people out there for which i feel sorry.

So few weekend dates left up to xmas for winter fishing hope we see a cod or two, get your name down to avoid disappointment will be booking up those tope dates for next year on them special tides a long way off but days have gone already well done to those who think ahead. Look forward to being of service until then tight lines to you all.
    Cheers Jon (High Flyer 2)

Well it looks like March 29th is the go ahead then start of full moon so a week of strong tides so will have to see what winds doing as to where we fish. As everyone is itching to go and numbers limited to 6 for couple months we will have to do it on first come first serve basis so will take bookings from the monday 29th March. To be honest its not cost effective running out with 6 anglers on £50 a head so please bring your own worms should you wish to use them at £22 per 100 now just cant justify it. We will still supply all our usual baits, refreshments etc. Look forward to being of service lets get this covid done with and get back to a normal life.
    Cheers Jon High Flyer 2

Well close of another year been worst i have ever know firstly losing my beautiful Hayley only 51 years old to cancer in March words fail me to describe in writing how the loss feels , would like to express firstly my thanks to Martin Bishop for standing in and skippering throughout Hayleys treatment etc without him i would have closed the charters very much appreciated by myself and all who came on trips throughout that period. Secondly a big thank you to all the regulars on High Flyer 2 you know who you all are without your constant support we couldnt operate you all know how expensive it is to maintain a charter vessel, i feel we all have a great relationship onboard with constant banter back and forth despite hard fishing days mixed in with the good ones but as serious anglers we all understand our sport. As you know we have had to cancel trips this xmas till further notice law is one angler and the skipper which is ridiculous unless you feel flush give me a call!!!
As from next year i can confirm i have purchased local charter vessel Seaquest which will be going under few alterations to suit ourselves early in new year hopefully so will be running the two vessels giving different fishing options to suit budgets etc.
Will be concentrating next year on the summer tope as very popular already the upgraded reels and rods have arrived so looking forward to that, do get your name down on those tope tides well in advance.
So just leaves me to say happy new year to you all, can only get better stay safe everyone look forward to when we can go again .
    All the best
    Jon (High Flyer 2)
