Jon took us out for an night trip fishing. Absolutely brilliant, the sea was flat calm and the fish were biting. No skate but the doggies were more than willing to keep us busy along with a plentiful supply of whiting. Chalky went one up on everyone when he landed to dogfish on a single hook!was a great evening and i'm looking forward to more like it. Many thanks Jon.

Another great days fishing with Jon. As usual he knew where the fish were and where to head when things got a bit choppy. Buisy day with all the whiting, dogs, hounds and the first of the spring codling coming aboard. The bacon rolls and flow of tea and coffee kept tehbite of the wind at bay. Many thanks for a brilliant days fishing.

First evening session of the year a tester really to see whats about at night. Our aim is to pick a tide with slack water around 9pm so we can fish either side generally the best times . Left at 6pm returned home about 1pm, picked out a mark uptide of a small wreck. Had our first doggies of the season in numbers along with quality size whiting few keepers among them. Plenty of dabs on the slack, unfortunately no skate as we had hoped. Thanks to Barry, pictured here with a couple of doggies, Martin, David James,Paul Layton,John and Harry, David Smith and Lee ,was a fantastic calm evening most enjoyable cant wait to go at night again. Thanks lads. Jon

Set out on a lovely calm day with a wind forcast for later. Headed out for those first skate or bass armed with every bait know to man. Out to a bank only few miles out that has come up trumps for me for those early spring fish. Started off with whiting and dads, few nice doggies among them. Great to see our first smoothhounds of the season come aboard although only small. After slack the wind started to get up proving uncomfortable on the bank so we headed in off a local mark where Paul caught two nice codling pictured here.More whiting and dabs along with the doggies came aboard in all not a bad day for this time of year. Big thanks to the Stamford lads Keith,Ian,Adi this weeks winner! also Paul, and Ken, together with Ben from Northampton, Charlie and son Karl first time on the Flyer and regular customer Paul Layton , appreciate all you guys travelling so far hope you enjoyed your day. Jon.

Lumpy sea today with wind against tide, knowing it was going to flatten headed north in search of those early bass and skate which once again made fools of us. Still forgetting its March but the chance is always there. Small whiting and flatties on the menu not in numbers at all even on the sandbanks the fishing was hard. Last cast of the day proved unbelievable when David James caught on worm a mackerel ! wouldnt of believed it unless i saw it with my own eyes, 3 months early, what the hell is going on? Big thanks for Mike (pictured) and Brian from Essex, David, Paul , Andy,Chalky, Collin, and Bob who was first time fishing, welcome to the club Bob! Sorry the fish wernt playing ball today lads and the big swells were a bit uncomfortable but in all a enjoyable day to be out. Many thanks lads, hope to see you soon. Jon.

Headed out today with the big tides ,hoping for a early bass to make a showing. Tried our luck north on the banks but only small whiting to show for it. Moved back up the north Scroby but the tide was way to strong resulting in the shallower waters of the winterton shoals. The bass remained illusive only lots of small dabs were interested stripping our baits giving us a bit of sport over slack. Whiting making a show throughout the day nothing of any size unfortunately. Ended up attempting the wreck at the rear of the shoals, still no bass. Big thanks to the lads at Network Rail for the day, Richard for organizing the trip, along with Matthew,Andy,Cammo Sean,Andy,Chris,Mark,Steve,Mick and Brian.Hope to see you all again lads. Jon.

First trip on High Flyer, really enjoyable, great skipper and first time had bacon rolls cooked for lunch and chocolate biscuits for desert not to mention tea and biscuits throughout the day. Just a shame about the weather but can’t blame him for that. Looking forward to next trip better weather, more fish and for cos another bacon roll. Cheers Jon tight lines.

After a previous day of torrential rain was glad of the forcast of light westerlys, so headed north today to see if any early bass are making a show from a little favourite mark of mine which generally produces in the early start of the expected run. Unfortunately the weather beat us totally unexpected ,the wind swung north, then north easterly forcing us to retreat inshore and hide in the shelter of the roads. Picked up whiting most of the day, quite a few keepers, only one dab, small codling, and a very large weever! Big thanks to Derek for arranging the trip, Dennis,Chris,Dave,Ian,Dave,Brian with Jay and Josh our two young anglers pictured with a few whiting. Good to see youngsters aboard well done lads. Hope to see you all again. Jon.
