With the forcast not to bad and a week spent trying to find the illusive cod we decided to go back to our favourite best chance of yes you guessed Corton Roads. Fished the ebb down producing whiting straight away some nice keepers amongst them. Sea state lovely with a steady South ,South East, wind with tide until slack water, when increasing wind on the flood started to make things uncomfortable resulting in a move inshore . Ended up only a few codling very patchy this week and bagfull of nice whiting, big thanks to Martin for organizing the trip for his family,Nigel,Brendon,Mark,Johnny, Steve,Jamie, and dad David, also to regulars Harry and John, was a good day of banter hope you all enjoyed yourselves. Good luck to Steve with your tour, keep your head down, be safe. All the best men, hope to see you soon. Jon.

Tried our luck today 6 miles out on one of the banks hoping for an early bass or skate as we keep seeing the pouches floating by. Unfortunately was not to be, plenty of fish on the finder just not the biting sort! Moved about into the rip tide which still didnt produce so decided to head inshore off the roadsto catch the ebb. Ended up with one keeper cod, few decent whiting and again no flatties! Whats going on? Big thanks to my local landlord David James for organizing the trip, along with Pete,(The Winner!) Gaz,Steve,Paul and Barry , also well done to you guys for staying out till 7.00 pm you cant say we didnt try hard ! Hope to see you all again .

Had high hopes for today, plan was to fish up to the lunch time slack and head out to a six mile bank for the ebb tide, unfortunately scuppered by the strongish north westerly as the day went on. we tried north out of Yarmouth to a old favourite deep hole which only produced whiting few reasonable size keepers. Changed tatics due to the lack of cod up anchor and headed off to the Corton church to join the other 14 boats i counted! Ended up a very testing day, every fish hard earned, total was a miserable 8 codling, and about the same whiting, and a very large dab, nice to see as they have been very scarce lately, we have been expecting them in for quite a while. Many thanks to Keith,Ian, and Adi, appreciate you traveling to come join us, also Andy and Matty and Barry, hope to see you all soon , next time hopefully we will get out there! Jon.

Tough day today strong N/Westerlys on the ebb made life uncomfortable, good start with numerous whiting ,few decent keepers among them. Quite a few boats out in the roads today reports vary in such close quarters seems to be luck of the draw with some doing better than others. Poor day for us with 6 cod and about the same whiting , unfortunate for us with three of our guests spending the day in the wheelhouse with sea sickness, thanks to Kev for organizing the trip along with Simon,Dave,Peter,Rodger,Tom,Mike, and Dean, hope you felt better after getting on dry land. Stick with it men it goes away. Many thanks lads, sorry about the rain and hail and nasty wind! Roll on the summer! Jon.

Todays charter still on our ground in the Roads ,wind picked up earlier than forcast throwing in some rain at times rather heavy. Well spirits were still high we fished right through till 5pm was very hard going compared to the previous day as far as fish were concerned. We finished up with 13 well earned cod, few large whiting, still no flatties. Thanks to jeff,David, Chris, Barry, and father and son Brian and Jay ,especially 12 year old Jay who eventually got his first cod on his last cast of the day ,plus first time on the boat really pleased for him. Well done. See you all soon lads . Jon.

Nice break in the weather for once, joined a fleet out there today off sunny Corton.Cant fault the place has turned up trumps for us all this year. Ended up at the end of the day with 41 codling averaging out at 3-5 pounds, lovely condition, nice to see half a dozen or so large whiting as keepers, along with their smaller relatives as nuisance throwbacks. Not one flattie where the hell are they? Big thank you to my party today, which consisted of Will,Ashley,Roland,Paul, and Dave for organizing them, also to John and Aaron and Stuart all first timers onboard High Flyer, and lastly to Paul on his 2nd trip with us all having a reasonable day fish wise. Hope you all enjoyed yourselves men ,thank you for coming out, look forward to seeing you again.

What a cracking break in the weather today, light winds, sun came out perfect conditions, headed south to good old Corton again bit further up this time. After chasing our tail all last week offshore with dissapointing cod catches the deep water proving very difficult, our inshore tactics paid off. The whiting were not as prolific as they have been better in size though and no flatties at all today very strange! We ended up with 30 codling biggest around four to five pound mark , in perfect prime condition , everybody on the boat caught, thanks to Chalky for helping out the less experienced anglers for the uptiding tuition, Mike first time on High Flyer, along with Andy hope to see you guys again,Matty the only man i know to catch a frozen herring, and Marty and Arek who drive hour and half to be with us its much appreciated. In all we had a brilliant day ,enjoyed the company, glad we had a result ,well done men and thank you. Jon.

Very foggy start today had to wait for clearance out. Headed out to Corton as our trip north over the weekend proved very dissapointing with the cod being bite shy. Fished the flood down to the slack with plenty of whiting few keepers nice to see. No cod till tide turned on the ebb ended up with 8 to 10 fish and more whiting had a half day leaving behind a flat calm sea totally different to the weekend! Thanks to Richard,Len,Barry and Peter for a most enjoyable day. Jon
